I was born and raised in "The home of the blues", Memphis, Tennessee. I've always been proud of that fact.
My earlier influences were and still are Memphis artists
such as Rufus and Carla Thomas, Otis Redding, Sam Cooke, Elvis Presley, Al Green etc. . . . Later, I discovered and developed a love for Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha, Sarah, Billie Holiday,
Gladys Knight, Roberta Flack, Smokey Robinson . . . I could go on and on, but I won't.
I enjoy writing many types of music. "Movin' In The Right Direction", contains original tunes, soul, gospel, a jazz original and of course some hip hop flavored R&B. Stage plays were one of my first loves and I added a show tune in the mix, just for fun.
I wrote and co-wrote the lyrics to nine cuts on this cd. Then I chose five covers that always find their way into my show and when they do, people seem to love 'em too.
So, slease relax, unwind and take a ride with me I keep us, "Movin'In The Right Direction"!!!!
