He's been called "The Monster Truck Of Acoustic Guitars". He cites his greatest influences as Jimmy Page, Neil Young, Pete Townshend, Marc Bolan, David Bowie, and Lindsay Buckingham. Max Volume grew up in the Glendale/ Burbank/ Pasadena area of Los Angeles, listening to all the British Rock he could find.
Things really took off when he moved to Reno, Nevada, and became a Disc Jockey for KOZZ, KRZQ, and even Sacramento's KRXQ. He played in the critically acclaimed Meatal Band; Terraplane. That led to a long term friendship with David Coverdale of Whitesnake, who calls Max Volume "the little brother he never wanted".
He became good friends with Chuck Ruff of Edgar Winter, Sammy Hagar, and Pat Travers fame, and they've been playing together ever since. He met up with Austin Texas native, Widgeon Holland (Chessly Millikin's last signing), and put together the band along with longtime Reno standout, John Gaddis, on Bass.
The U.N.R. Sagebrush called Max Volume "A cross between Nirvana & Led Zeppelin, pure beach bonfire rock"!. Furious Fretwork, and open tunings make Max Volume a show to see. Max has opened shows for Steve Morse, Pat Travers, Dave Mason, Mickey Thomas, Mumbo Gumbo, Edgar Winter, Reo Speedwagon, Foghat and more. Recently, the band played the "11th Annual Cathouse Poker Run" live from the Old Bridge Ranch, in Mustang Nevada.
Whether full on electric, intense acoustic, or throwing down with the Chrome Dobro Slide guitar, Max Volume plays genuine American Rock'n'Roll. Discography: "Written in Stone" (2001), "MV" (2004), "Live Volume" 2006, and now "illuminaughty" 2007.

author: Helen NewmanAfter seeing these guys ion concert the album was totally unexpected. I loved the bluesy mix and acoustical arrangements. This is a good "chillin' on a sunday afternoon" kind of album.
