The CD "Moe Dete" is the forerunner of OCTOPUS IN LONDON, the other Viktor's children's CD. Some of the songs from MOE DETE were transliterated into English. In their English, as well as in this Macedonian version, they prove to be very successful among kids.

The music is uncommon in the sense that they make wide use of MACEDONIAN FOLK ELEMENTS, producing a rather interesting melange of children's music which varies between Folk and Pop.

The songs are acoustic, with use of many STRINGED FOLK INSTRUMENTS: Tamboura, Tambouritza Prim, Mandolin, Bouzouki, Acoustic Guitar, Accordion


This gives a very WARM, almost rural background to the music.

The LYRICAL MOTIFS are the normal ones: celebrating FRIENDSHIP, FAMILY, SNOW, PARTY. There are also FANTASY motifs, with lyrics inspired and co-written with children themselves (the author comes from a big family, so there was never a luck of inspiration for that!)

But not only that.

The most important is the SPIRIT which comes out of music, isn't it? And we want to make sure that our children DO NOT encounter something which might project a WRONG message.

Rest assured, the fact that the composer is an ACTIVE MUSIC TEACHER in a great International School in North London assumes that the EDUCATIONAL ELEMENT IS INVISIBLY IMPRINTED. Even in the funniest songs.

And last, but not least, the success of MOE DETE among kids lays in the simple fact that VIKTOR (the author), LOVES CHILDREN.

And children intuitively recognise and RESPOND to this love.

By DANCING and SINGING the songs, of course!

Песниве на овој албум имаат поминато долг пат пред да го видат светлото на издавачкиот ден.

Компонирани некаде 1991/92 во Харлем, Холандија, тие се снимени во Лондон, Вел. Британија во 2000-та година, за да бидат издадени во САД 2006-та година.

Сепак, мое мислење е дека ништо не изгубиле од оригиналниот шарм, чистотија и детска веселост – главните причини заради кои се и напишани.

Авторот, Виктор Масторидис е роден во Грција 1963 од мешан Грчко-Македонски брак. На 6-годишна возраст неговите се преселуваат во Скопје, Македонија. Бил член и водач на многу Рок групи, од кои Супер Нова беше неговиот последен и најуспешен бенд. 1989 се сели во Холандија, а 1997 во Лондон.

Во Лондон има работено на филмот „Прашина“ од Милчо Маневски; во соработка со Julius Aitken ја има напишано музиката на британската ТВ серија „A Place Under the Sun – Greece”, а има свирено и на Италијанското и Шпанското издание од истата серија. Во 2004 година излезе ЦеДе со наслов „Olympic Games, Athens 2004” во издание на EMI Publishing UK, во кое покрај Queen и Jamiroquai, содржи и четири композиции од В. Масторидис. Како учител во основното училиште Woodside Park International School во Лондон, ги има преведено повеќето песни од албумов на англиски, како и создадено низа други на истиот јазик кои се издадени на албумот “Octopus in London”.
