  • Music for kids AND adults--what a delight!
author: Deb Kinghorn, President, Lessac Institute

Not having children myself, I didn't think I would like this CD. But I got HOOKED listening to it--Kaye's vocals are sometimes smooth and hypnotic, and at other times just spoke/sung enough to make you think you are really hearing a child's inner voice. Love the reggae. Excellent musicianship from all. Am sending the info to all my friends--with children and without!

  • This CD is fantastic in every sense of the word!
    author: Sheara Heon

A lot of times CDs for children are so repetitive and simplistic that they are not enjoyable for adults. They get stuck in your head...but not in a good way. Mary Kaye's CD "Spin Your Web" has such variety and is so beautifully catchy that it gets stuck in your head in a great way. It is excellent for kids and adults. I particularly love the song "B.B. Dickinson." It has a great beat and makes me want to jam out with it. It inspires the inner detective in every kid! Although all of Mary's CDs are wonderful (we have them all), "Spin Your Web" is our family's favorite!

  • "Spin Your Web" inspires kids to have a great time!
    author: Charlie Paul

This CD makes you want to jump around and sing and dance! It also has calm songs that are soothing and make you feel happy inside. I love "Let's Get Dressed." It makes me laugh. I love the song about the kid detective named "B.B. Dickinson." It's very cool. "Waiting" can teach kids that it is OK...sometimes you have to wait...but it all works out in the end. This CD is great! It is a blast!

  • It's Music That The Whole Family Can Enjoy Together!
    author: Kevin Kern

When you first hear "Spin Your Web," Mary Kaye's warm and inviting voice lets you know you are in for a treat! This music is fun for kids but interesting enough to keep adults entertained as well.

  • Upbeat. Appeals to adults as well as kids. I never tire of listening to it.
    author: Jude Elford

Our family loves this CD almost as much as Mary's first release. The title track is our favorite. Upbeat and full of sound, it is music to listen to over and over. The images and visions the lyrics ispire are wholesome, magical, and emerge from nature: feries and fireflies, spiders and gardens, snacks and sandcastles.

    author: Rabbi Lev Baesh

Spin your web, is one of the only CD's I keep in my car CD player at all times. It's words and melodies keep me humming for long rides. As a teacher, i have found this CD is great for use in the classroom with young kids. It's words inspire inquiry, joy, love of nature and the world, creativity, and help children see themselves in a great light. And, did I mention, I have no kids of my own and still keep it playing in my car.

  • An inspiration
author: Bill Rogers, Coruway Film Institute

I got into my office this morning and clicked on SPIN YOUR WEB. What an inspiration! I was shooting some images earlier today and saw this great spider web woven behind a roadside guardrail. That's life there and what I find fascinating my kid's discover. They'll say, wow! Look at this! Listen to that! And they, like me, love to listen to what you see. Great!

  • Fun and spirited! The Skeleton song made my spine dance.

Mary's music is fun and upbeat. My daughter loves dancing to the music. Even adults can enjoy the music. We especially like the humor and fun-filled songs such as the Skeleton Song. This is an entertaining CD for the entire family.

  • A smorgasboard of outstanding songs!
author: Kate Smith, Music Teacher and Mom

Wow, what a wonderful CD. My children listen to this over and over again. Our favorites are "Pig Party" and "Spin Your Web". Recently I shared "Spin Your Web" with a first grade class and they loved singing along as we imitated the song's message with our hands. This would make a great gift for boys and girls alike!

  • "Spin Your Web" is like childhood in a CD case...cherished by young and old!
    author: jody B.

Spin your Web is childhood in a CD case! It weaves childhood reality and childhood imagination together like no other CD I've heard. As a mother of a 7 year old I see how my daughter comes to life when I play it...And as the owner of a 28 year old family owned and operated toy store, I feel it offers our customers with something unique that both children and adults will love and return to over and over again! We have loved Mary Kaye's first two CDs, and Spin Your Web makes three a charm!

  • I absolutely love this CD!
    author: Nancy K (mom)

When I listen to Mary Kaye's songs they sound so believable. It's like I am right there with her... watching the spider spin the web, dancing with my shadow and getting dressed! I love the song about the blueberries! "Kerplunk! Kerplunk!" Mary Kaye has a wide variety of musical sounds on this CD! I absolutely love this CD!

  • upbeat and engaging
author: Valerie Evans - Montessori Teacher and mom

As a preschool teacher I am always looking for new fun music for children. This CD is fantastic! Mary uses a variety of instruments and music styles from bluegrass to ragae and folk. The children can relate to the lyrics and laugh out loud when listening to some of the songs, especially The Skeleton Song. Some songs are fast paced and some are slow. Sometime we play a dancing game and the children really feel the music and create their own dance movements for each song. My personal favorite is "Child". It is about the tremendous love a mother has for her child and I get goose bumps every time I listen to it! I feel this is Mary's best CD ever and I look forward to the next one!

  • My Mommy and I love Spin Your Web!
    author: Ryan B. (age 3)

I like that violin in Pig Party! I think the porcupine is funny in Porcupine Path! My Mommy and I love Spin Your Web!

It takes a moment to realize you are listening to kids music... it's interesting enough to capture the imagination of any age. Then you hear about shadows, and getting dressed and the magical inner life of children and you realize, hey, my child will like this too. Mary Kaye's original music definitely stands out in the world of music for young people.

    author: Kris Bisson, music educator

From its very first beat, "Spin Your Web" captures your ears and engages the listener with its rich and earthy rhythms. We love to listen to this CD over and over again. Our favorite dance tunes are "Pig Party" and "Spin Your Web". The recording is outstanding. These musicians are fabulous and the level of professionalism for this children's CD is far above the standard. My children love Mary Kaye and I do, too!

  • We love Mary!!
    author: Kara Plank

Our family of 5 has been in love with Mary's music for years now, and all are glad for this third CD to add to our rotation: bouncy rhythm, catchy lyrics (that appeal to all from our 9 year old boy to 2 year old girl), and happy thoughtful melodies. We all spin the Web!!

  • Spin Your Web is a CD all families will treasure!
    author: Karen Brough

Mary Kaye's "Spin Your Web" is inspiring, high-energy and fun! It really captures kids' perspectives on everyday situations. The Waiting song is a perfect example of this. This CD makes our whole family move! We get our exercise...and have a good time,too...while dancing along to it! I am moved as I listen to the Child song. It puts words to feelings that are often inexpressible. Mary Kaye's "Spin Your Web" is a CD all families will treasure!

  • It is Kid - ish! We listen to this CD everyday!
author: Aiyana and Iain W. (ages 5 and 3)

I think other kids would love this CD! Waiting is my favorite song because I think it is SO TRUE. Sometimes you do get bored in a car when you are waiting. I like that Blueberry song because I like to pick blueberries at my Grandma's house. It is Kid-ish! We listen to this CD everyday! Mary Kaye is really cool!

  • "Spin Your Web" - music for children with depth and soul!
    author: Carin Lee

I think it is unusual to find a performer of music for children who honors that children appreciate sophisticated lyrics and music. Mary Kaye's music is different and wonderful. She explores the world that children live in with depth and soul. On "Spin Your Web," Mary Kaye takes her work to a new level. Her voice has never sounded better and the rich instrumentation enhances every song. There is such a range of styles on this CD. It exposes my kids to blues and folk and rock and roll. I guess that is why it is so great...kids love the music and parents do, too! "Spin Your Web" is full of rich imagery and melody! It nourishes our family!

  • This CD is COOL!
author: Miles and Amelia Rogers (ages 5 and 6)

This CD is COOL! I like all of the drums on "Spin Your Web." I love how they go BOOM! I like the Halloween song because I like how the skeletons make all of these funny sounds. "Pig Party" is great because there are pigs in it and a fiddle. The shadow song makes me move to the music. It makes me feel a happy kind of calm. All kids would LOVE this CD!

  • I Think Everyone Should Buy This CD!
    author: Zoe Sheppard (age 7)

I think everyone should buy this CD! It makes me dance... and even my pet fish dances along! (It's true-she does!) I like the Shadow Song. It makes me think about how much I love my shadow. I like the Waiting Song because it reminds me of how I hate to wait. I like the Pig Party song because it is fun and it makes me laugh. I think Mary Kaye has a pretty voice!

  • Best one yet!
    author: Sue Horowitz

Mary's third CD is her best one yet. Her voice sounds like Natalie Merchant from 10,000 Maniacs, and the production value of the CD is high. She clearly understands what is on the minds of young children. We particularly love the Blueberry song, and my 12 year old even put Waiting on her ipod. Sophisticated music for parents, yet sweet, relatable lyrics for the little ones.

  • This one is really great, even better than the first two.
    author: Sue Godel

My kids and I have really enjoyed Mary Kaye's first two CDs. This new one is much more sophisticated and really sounds impressive. My kids love it, and I love exposing my kids to the rich instrumenation, so many musical styles, and her witty and often poignant lyrics. I think this woman is really talented. Her song ideas seem as if they came right out of a child's imagination (a Super-girl Detective, a singing skeleton) but musically they are not childish at all. These CDs make great birthday presents, other parents will thank you! Wait until your kids hear the Waiting song, it is exactly how kids think!

  • Kids AND Grown-Ups Will Be Singing Along!
    author: Jeanne Boisineau

Mary Kaye's ability to give voice to a child's imagination and celebration of life's joy is a true gift. Kaye and her musicians delight their listeners with an impressive spectrum of musical styles. Her voice, like Natalie Merchant's, is rich and rolling, strong and sensitive. This CD should be in every early learning classroom and school music room across the country, and is a great gift for every young child in your life.

  • More fun with every listen!
author: Michael, Producer - Hackmatack Playhouse

Mary's music is as fun for kids as adults! Great songs to sing with kids; my favorite: B B Dickinson. My son's favorite: Waiting. With each CD Mary shows off more of her talents, this new CD is alive with music and musicians.

  • Wow! Mary Kaye's music is fun for all ages!
    author: Thomas Collier

I find Spin Your Web to be a complete musical delight. The CD features a variety of instrumentation, clever and imaginative lyrics and the clear and versatile voice of Mary Kaye. The CD has us humming these memorable tunes all day, long after the CD player has cut off!

  • Take her advice--she is most certainly right!
author: Daniel Singer, Author and Educator

Mary Kaye's third album does the toughest work of a musical artist's career--the "burst on the scene" excitment of her first album had already settled, the "can she do it again?" question of her second was pretty favorably answered, and Kaye's third compilation places her firmly and unequivocally among the best and the brightest. "Spin Your Web" is a dazzling arrangement of songs that will inspire your kids and have you singing along and tapping your feet. With this CD, Kaye says clearly and accurately: "I'm good! Sit up and take notice!" Take her advice--she is most certainly right.

  • Excellent childrens songs that adults will also enjoy.
    author: Lynsey Graham

This CD is very entertaining. My One year old loves "Pig Party". She laughs and dances whenever it comes on. And "Shadows" is just a wonderful song. The whole family loves this CD.
