notes
"A folksy mom sings of simple childhood pleasures while breathing life into characters like Thumbelina. It's a great kid CD not to be missed by you." -Parenting Magazine
"...Kaye’s lyrics reflect a mom who closely observes her children’s interests. Reminiscent of Jonathan Richman’s sensibility, Kaye’s writes about the simple pleasures of hole-digging or sitting by the heater. Other songs tell magical tales of elves, unicorns, and tooth fairies. Her warbly vocals recall Natalie Merchant or Ricki Lee Jones... 'The Library Book' wittily recounts the tale of a rare and cherished book that the singer and her kids have checked out of the library over and over again. This song can help parents get their own kids psyched for a library visit or talk about the wonder of the library system. With Kaye’s well-crafted lyrics you can almost feel the dog-eared pages. Kaye's rich warm music is something that, like the beloved library book, families will want to play again and again."
-Eric Milvy, Common Sense Media (5 out of 5 stars)
"Children will be immediately drawn to Mary Kaye's appealing, strong, and rich voice...Kaye's sensitive lyrics reflect her understanding of the world from a child's point of view. Instead of asking the rain to go away in Rain, she invites it to stay, so she can splash around the neighborhood and dance in the rainbow. The subjects of the songs are everyday realities, such as sitting by the heating vent to 'warm my fingers and toesies!' Kaye has a real knack for turning ordinary topics into clever ditties."
-Naomi Leithhold, Booklist
"...Her sweet alto voice blends perfectly with Jennifer Peart's harmonies. Kaye's daughters Emily and Abby also contribute their cute preschool voices on a few of the songs. The musical styles of mostly folk and soft rock are beautifully performed on guitar and Korg Karma keyboard...this second album will be a great addition to any library's collection of music for children."
-Beverly Bixler, School Library Journal
"...a truly AMAZING voice!!"
-Kenny Curtis, XM Satellite Radio
"...Set aside the fact that families will enjoy this CD for hours, and set aside that 'Mouse Jamboree' will actually have children come away having learned something. 'I Love You a Million,' is worth the CD by itself..."
-Daryl Madore, The Times Record, Maine

very original
author: Tara OslundThis CD is loads of fun! Very creative and original.
Very entertaining and enjoyable
author: L FitzgeraldI usually get annoyed when I listen repetitively to most of the kids music that is out today. NOT in this case, Mouse Jamboree is very entertaining and can be listened to over and over again with out becoming ill. The songs are enjoyable and makes the commute to work much more palatable. It's something both me and my son can agree on!
We know all the words!
author: Laura DomsicWe do not drive anywhere without Mary's first CD "I Sang It Just For You" and now we have "Mouse Jamboree"! In the Middle is one of our favorites, but it is really hard to pick. Each song makes you happy in a different way, the whole family sings along.
Catchy, Intelligent

We love this CD!
author: Dan OlkMy daughter (age 6) loves the songs on the CD (Tooth Fairy and Digging are among the favorites). Not only that, but I have a few favorites as well. One of the best parts is how Mary uses different musical styles (jazz, country, rock) to tell the stories. The CD is a must have in all of our travels.
Music that tells the richest of stories - how wonderful!
author: Don WellsI love this CD - what do I know. But when my kids request it specifically and REMEMBER TO BRING IT WITH THEM on car trips - then I know that my praise for it is well deserved. My children have said that they can SEE these songs and imagine how the characters in them might respond in other situations. Mary Kaye you have empowered their creativity and for that we thank you!
Mary's music will stimulate hours of imaginary play and singing for the entire
author: Sammie Haynes, children's musicianAs I listened to Mouse Jamboree by Mary Kaye, I felt as though I were turning the pages of a storybook. The songs are bright and joyful about the little things in life - real and imaginary, and absolutely come alive. They ask questions and help answer others. Mary's voice is strong and endearing and the arrangements enhance the songs giving each its own fanciful groove. Mary's music will stimulate hours of imaginary play and singing for the entire family!
Mouse Jamboree is a delightful journey of music and storytelling!
author: Jody BrenemanMary Kaye's Mouse Jamboree is not only an amazing musical journey, but a collection of storytelling through song! Her original music takes everyday childhood experiences and reminds us to stop and notice how magical they can be. Her songs can teach and touch us without telling us how to think or feel. Mouse Jamboree offers us the gift to listen, notice, sing and dance!
Love It!
author: Denise CroteauThis CD is terrific to sing along with and dance to. My daughter and I have a "dance party" every day. This is our favorite CD.
My kids say: "The best song ever!"
author: Hans KrimmIt was quite a treat to discover Mary Kaye's music and "Mouse Jamboree" is perfect for my children, ages 4 and 6. There is a great variety of music from the danceable "Mouse Jamboree" and "Digging," which my daughter called "the best song ever!" to soft and sweet ballads like "Thumbelina" and "Tooth Fairy," my two favorites. Mary's voice is strong and clear and the lyrics are very imaginative, while being easy for kids and grown-ups to relate to. Certainly a fine new addition to music for children!
Great sing-along songs
author: Laura JonesThis cd has a wide variety of wonderful songs: "Love You A Million" is the perfect song to sing with your child. Some of the songs are about everyday things that any child can relate to, the rest are wonderful fairytales to imagine while singing. Another great sing-along collection from Mary Kaye with creative music arrangements by Chris Stolpe.
Fantastic opportunity for child-parent interaction and bonding
author: Autumn AllenMary Kay includes fun for child and parent in her music! I do not tire of hearing the same song over and over like other children's artists. The music has depth and can be enjoyed by all age groups. I especially love when my son and I "imagine" being at the mouse jamboree! Mary's music has the ability to bring out the child in all of us@: )
Fun learning songs about real experiences
author: Steva ScarpelliEvery child and adult can relate to these songs. My kids love This is a Tale of a dog! They sing it all the time. Jared age 5, " I just like the whole CD, it's a lot of fun!
Kids connect immediately with Mary' Kaye's songs
author: Susan GodelI'm just amazed at how fast my kids connected with Mary Kaye's music. Her first CD became an integral part of my children's lives -- we sang it everywhere. This one, Mouse Jamboree, has worked the same magic. These songs are about the childhood passions that grownups have forgotten -- like "Digging", her song about the simple joy of digging in the earth the wonders underneath -- a classic kid fantasy expressed with irresistable rhythm and wit. We are completely delighted with this CD and hope there will be more released by this artist.
Simple but fun songs that young children will love.
author: Cathy AlifrangisThe subjects of the songs are appealing to the young. Rain puddles, sitting on heater vents, breakfast, the tooth fairy, and being the middle child are topics that will resonate with children. The upbeat tempo, Mary's soothing voice, and the rhythmic guitar blend with the message creating an easy to listen to, fun to sing along with, happy experience.
Fun and Fabulous for the whole family and the neighbors too!!
author: Marjie SheppardWhat a find Mouse Jamboree is. Mary Kaye is a fantastic singer/song writer who really understands kids. When my minivan is filled to capacity with kindergarteners, I know it won't be long before the requests for the Mary Songs come in. I pop in Mouse Jamboree and they are happy and singing along. Of course with their teeth falling out like nuts off a tree, they just adore Tooth Fairy and Digging gets them pumped up. As for me, Love You A Million says it all in such an easy way. It goes straight to the heart. Buy Mouse Jamboree and experience the wonders of Mary Kaye. You won't regret it!!
I am blown away! The songs are playful, sincere, believable, truthful...
author: Nancy KiersteadI listened to this CD the first time without the kids around, I wanted to form my own (adult) opinions - Wow! I was blown away! As much as I really, really liked the first CD (and I REALLY, REALLY did), this CD takes entertainment to a whole new level! Playful, truthful, full of strong visual images, and totally believable. Mary Kaye's sincerity makes every song seem a new chapter in the young lives of her own children - she's just telling us a story. And all of this is bundled into catchy tunes. (So why am I surprised that I spontaneously burst into "Being In the Middle" when I was cleaning the garage the next day?) How do I convince people to buy this CD...? If I could never hear this CD again for as long as I live, I honestly believe that I would never forget some of these songs. You children deserve to experience Mary Kaye!
Every child will love this collection of fun, creative songs!
author: Dani WestonThis CD allows children to be young and innocent with fun, creative songs that they can easily sing along with. The subjects are simple, yet they are described in a way that make them new and interesting. The upbeat tempos keep my children dancing for hours. It is fantastic!!
Great for creative drama classes!
author: Alexis Dascoulias, Education DirectorMouse Jamboree is perfect for the classroom! I am teaching a creative drama class using Fairy Tales and we sing and dance to "The King of Elves" in every class. Mary Kaye's songs are a delight! They are out of the ordinary and the tunes and lyrics encourage kids to be creative!
Mouse Jamboree is a magical journey! Warm and inspiring!
author: Karen BroughMouse Jamboree opens my heart-allowing me to reflect on the beauty of childhood. It is like a magical journey! The kids and I listen to the CD at least once a day and the lyrics and music seem richer and more meaningful every time. Warm and inspiring-fun for all of us-I highly recommend it! Mary Kaye's music makes me appreciate my children in the moment.
