Mary Jo Maichack has performed professionally on some 3,000 stages since 1989. Her shows combine storytelling and music. She is a singer/songwriter, plays guitar and fiddle and offers highly interactive programs for children's and family audiences at festivals, schools and libraries. She has performed from Maine to San Francisco, on PBS, Mark Twain Festival, Celebration Barn, Connecticut Storytelling Festival, to name a few. She offers many themes from reading inspiration to multicultural folktales and music. Her Halloween show is truly Howlarious.

Boo!
I have all three of Mary Jo's CDs and this one took me by surprise. hist wist is a favourite of mine by e.e. cummings and MJ's version is CREEPY! I have read this out loud to many kids (as a children's librarian), but when I heard this version, it put the poem into orbit - BRILLIANT. This track is not for those who scare easily. But the rest of the CD is fine. Funny, fun, spooky, and for a "dead" subject, Mary Jo brings so much life to it. This, I think, is my favourite of the three, although Muffin Man is really close behind. A great choice.
Fantastic CD for Halloween!

I love Mary's style of storytelling and her jokes are perfect to tell the children as they stand in line waiting for candy! If you like a good storytelling cd this is the one to purchase. Adults and children alike will love this one. : )
