There is only one way to experience the music of Mary Ann Kennedy. Just listen to it. There is no format for it. There is no category for it. There is no precedent for it. Mary Ann is the voice for animal lovers everywhere!!

There are very few people in this world whose lives have not been irrevocably changed by a relationship with an animal. This newest release by Mary Ann, "Hoofbeats, Heartbeats & Wings" celebrates horses and the animals we love. From her ranch in Tennessee, Mary Ann sees, breathes and feels the strength of nature, the communication between and among horses and animals and converts both to lyrics, music and arrangements with amazing clarity. It captivates the listener.

Mary Ann has 20+ years of traditional success in the country and pop fields. She has worked with Emmy Lou Harris, Sting, Art Garfunkel, Reba McEntire, Patty Loveless, Martina McBride, Faith Hill, Restless Heart, LeaAnn Rimes and Pam Tillis, among others. Her first grammy nomination was for her single, "Ring On Her Finger, Time On Her Hands," recorded by Lee Greenwood and Reba. Restless Heart's "I'll Still Be Loving You" earned a second grammy nomination for Mary Ann and co-writers Pam Rose and Pat Bunch.

"The songs from my first CD 'The Trail Less Traveled' (also available on CDBaby) were inspired by the deaths of my two soul-mates: my dear 15-year-old pug, Choy, and my horse, Tonka, the colt I raised and rode for 9 years. Both their souls flew away together in August, 2000. The healing process is an amazing thing.

Three and a half years after the journey down 'The Trail Less Traveled' , overwhelming response from fans and kindred spirit animal lovers, inspired my second CD "Hoofbeats, Heartbeats & Wings". Through melody, rhythm, and humor in song, my hope is that this music will touch the heart of every horse and animal lover who hears it. Turn it up loud in your truck, play it in the barn while cleaning stalls or grab the reins and RIDE to it! Thank you for all of your heartfelt feedback and know that all of you have helped inspire this new CD."

    Got my CD and loved it. I plan on purchasing more of May Ann Kennedy music in the future. My husband and ALL of his friends ride every week, I am in a wheelchair (fell 6 years ago and broke my back....from loft in a barn) so I don't ride but sure enjoy being around the horses and the smells and sounds of the trail riding. I still go on alot of the campouts and weekends with them. The music makes it all come together. Thank you so much.

    I have ridden horses since I was a little girl. I got hurt about 5 years ago and hadn't ridden again until this summer when a job opened with polo that was too incredible to pass up. To my surprise after all the pain and threats about riding, riding horses was exactly what finally made the pain subside. I am that little girl who never outgrew horses. After a long time away, I found my self head over heals for a mare at the polo barn. She is my soulmate and my best friend, and she got sold to a great person, but one who lives on the other side of the country. I'll never forget the best ride I had with Mechi, at Kentucky's horse park, it was the best experience of my life. I found this cd online one night when I was looking for songs about horses because I missed her so much. When I heard "When You Carry Me" I was crying so hard I couldn't see. I got this cd for my birthday along with a picture of her playing polo, it was the best birthday present I could have asked for. Thank you Mary Ann, your songs are amazing!

    I originally purchased "The Trail Less Traveled" because I'd heard the Blue Heeler song set to a video (I have two heelers) and thought it was so cool! My computer screwed up though, and I ordered two instead of one. I loved it so much when I got it, that I sent the second to a dear friend who does horse rescue, and then had to turn around and order two of "Hoofbeats, Heartbeats and Wings" as well - and we both play them all the time!     The songs in this album are so diverse that you are always amazed at Mary Ann's versatility. We played Spirit Horse for a 91 year old friend's memorial service. She rode her horse until a month before she died. The song brought tears to everyone's eyes, as it could've been written for her.     It is hard to beleave but this is even better than "the trail less traveled" CD! The musical arrangements are great and of the subject matter is so special. Haunting melodies. My favorite are "Horses in heaven" and "this is my home". Being a Parelli L2 student and a mustang owner makes it even more wonderful.     I went camping with my horse this past weekend, and played this CD every time we were around camp. I love all the songs, but probably my favorites are When You Carry Me because I can identify so much with the feeling of love and partnership one can achieve with a horse, and then Spirit Horse since I lost my older horse last September. It definitely makes my soul soar when I think of riding that old guy back when he was young and healthy. This CD is definitely a keeper for all horse lovers.

    What an awesome CD this is. Very seldom do you find something in life that makes you smile through tears and reaches deep into your soul. Ms. Kennedy has a beautiful voice, the musicians are wonderful, and the lyrics are incredible. Ms. Kennedy has expressed for us all what our horses (and other animals) means to us. I strongly urge anyone who enjoys great music and loves their horses to buy this CD. You will not be disappointed. Instead, you will be uplifted. Kudos, Ms. Kennedy. You and your music are priceless.

    This CD puts a smile on my face and a song in my heart! Mary Ann Kennedy is so talented and has such an amazing voice. I can relate to every single one of these songs! My favorite songs are Born to Ride, Green on Green, Cleanin Stalls, and Spirit Horse. The flute and the drums on Spirit Horse are just amazing (a tremendous group of backup musicians are on this CD). And from one Parelli student to another, I can appreciate the deeper meaning that all of these songs convey. Thanks Mary Ann...

    I own both the TRAIL LESS TRAVELED and HOOFBEATS,HEARTBEATS AND WINGS. They play in succession all day in the barn for me and my ponies. It's a must have for every horse and animal lover. Mary Ann Kennedy is a wonderful singer/songwriter. I LOVE HER MUSIC!!

    I got my cd about two weeks ago and I haven't taken it out of my cd player yet. Everytime I get in my truck, it plays. I'm just letting it run, over and over. No other music has touched my soul and expressed how I feel like Hoofbeats, Heartbeats, and Wings. I guess it takes someone who is passionate about animals and especially horses to bring out the words that say it best. By the way, I love the Jack Russell song, too!! I have one of those wild critters and that song fits him perfectly. Thanks Mary Ann Kennedy!!

    I just had to put my best friend of 18 years down to rest. His name is Appy he was 26. I felt he led me to this. The CD was wonderful. It made me laugh and it made me cry. It is so true. The song about cleaning stalls and going to feed the Horses reminded me of me. And a few songs made me think of my Appy. I have six cats so I loved the song about the Barn Cat. I loved the songs about the dogs. I just love this whole CD I have already shared it with my friends and husband. They loved it too!
