notes
Annie Marleau has a fresh and unique sound, which sets her apart from other female artists today. Her engaging voice immediately draws in her listeners and her hauntingly sensual vocal delivery is versatile enough to cut through a pounding guitar riff or float over a quiet ballad. Distinctive influences of singer/songwriters Alanis Morissette, Sarah McLachlan and Sheryl Crow can be heard in her style, but make no mistake she is clearly paving her own road. With all melodies and lyrics written by Annie, her debut album Alive has signalled the arrival of an unmistakable new voice in pop-rock music.
Annie's music has been described as "unique indie pop material with a strong adult contemporary influence". Her songs have passion, power and range and her lyrics are intelligent with deep meaningful messages. She has a natural talent for creating songs with catchy melodies and memorable hooks that linger in your mind long after you've heard them. When asked to describe her own personal writing process, Annie describes it as “a feeling she has about something or someone close to her heart which then evolves into a melody or lyrics and eventually into a song". She takes a heartfelt, introspective and spiritual approach when writing the majority of her lyrics and music. While other times, she writes songs such as Addicted and Move On, just for the fun of it. Many of her lyrics are story driven, which give them real impact and leave her listeners with something they can identify with.
Annie’s debut CD Alive was released on January 11, 2006. Her single Addicted has been receiving much attention, and has been in the number one spot on the IAC (Independent Artists Company) Alternative Pop Rock charts for the past 4 weeks.

Fresh Sound lights fires!
author: John H. PieperThe music is fresh, vivbrant, and kicks it into your head. Be careful, you may find yourself trying to get into singing the lyrics yourself---but leave that to the Lady! Enjoyed it over and over already.

Simply wonderful!
author: DerekAnnie Marleau delivers an album filled with expressive human emotion and great music. The opening bars of the lead off track Addicted will hook you, and from there you will be treated to ten tracks of simply wonderful music accompaning great songwriting of longing, joy, pain, and hope of relationships. The end track Vanity is a wake-up call to those wanting to physically stand out in a visual world that seems to demand people to not be true to themselves. A great accomplishment!

Read the notes, they're not just hot air!
author: Andrew J JohnstoneThis is a fine, well structured collection of intelligent, well crafted rock songs mixed with a little pop, a little funk, a little anthemic stadium ... beautifully produced. From emotive mellow, to bright and biting there's something tasty for every palate. At just over 36 minutes it could be considered a little short, but its definitely sweeet!
WOW!!!

Easy to get into and addicting
author: Alan SmithThis Cd starts on strong, pulling you close and not letting you leave without a tune finding it's way deep into your head, personally I listened to this album for the first time while I was working, and yes, from the first second I could not get the songs out of my head, I even took to singing Hypnotized to the customers it was that memorable, it really is hard to find one single favourite track, the entire Cd is so strong, but I would have to shyly point in the direction of Alone, a great addition to my collection, I would encourage people to consider finding room for it in their own. -Silent
