Mother Of Twins
author: Leslie DeSchutterI am the parent of two year old twin girls. This book and CD brings forward an excellent approach to learning in a fun and colorful way. It's a must have for explaining emotions that are difficult for little ones to sometimes grasp. Thank-you Marla for your creativity, passion and love of education!
Excellent Teaching Resource
author: Tessa DerfnerI teach NYC children with Autism, ages 5-14, and this CD and book helped me to convey the difficult abstract idea of emotions in a fun, musical and visual way. Children look forward to hearing the songs each class session and I let them choose the songs which match how they are felling that day. For my non-verbal students, the images and music provide a way to communicate their internal world in a fresh and interactive way. Thanks for creating the good work, Marla!!

Recreation Programmer, False Creek Community Centre
author: Sandy FerrinFalse Creek Community Centre, Vancouver BC Dear Marla: I wanted to take this opportunity to thank you for providing quality entertainment for our Halloween Carnival. The children were captivated by your performance, energy, characters and skills with regard to your puppets. Emotions are a difficult subject for children to learn yet a performance based environment as the one you provided creates an opportunity for the learning to happen through play. Parents in the audience appreciated your performance for its’ positive content. Thank you, again, for providing our family carnival with entertainment of an appropriate and nurturing nature. Sincerely, Sandy Ferrin, Recreation Programmer, False Creek Community Centre.

Regina Leader Post
author: Regina Post- CANADAPuppet show aimed at kids' emotions; The Leader-Post (Regina); Fri 20 Jul, 2007 A travelling puppet show designed to teach kids to make good decisions is set to take the stage in Regina. The puppet show is part of national book tour for Marla Rosen's book Emotions. The Regina Public Library will be hosting the shows July 23-27. Rosen, a puppeteer, performer and educator, has combined her talents to create an interactive puppet show that focuses on emotions. "I think it's really important to lay the foundation as best we can for the earliest years," Rosen said, adding that it's important to reach children when they are forming their personalities... Rosen believes the social development component is often overlooked in the education system. She has worked in a number of schools and day cares and says children don't have the opportunity to learn about how they feel... "People who are in health care and mental health for kids are screaming out loud for something like this. There's nothing that exists on the market for kids that is interactive and multimedia in a safe way for them to deal with their emotions and learn about their emotions."

author: Vicki BelobabaThank you so much for putting on such a wonderful performance. Your songs really resonated with the kids who seemed unable to hold back their enthusiasm. It was great to watch them participate and dance and follow your directions with such excitement. You will be welcome back at Fairview and I would recommend you to anyone who asked. PhD in Education
author: Dr. Judith GaborMarla Rosen is not only an excellent performer but a gifted teacher who understands the emotional needs of preschool and primary level children and the key to effective communication with these age groups. Marla has produced a vibrant interactive live performance using puppets, music, and dance. She acts as a one person theatrical production that fully engages her audiences and invites them to become part of the EMOTIONS show, thereby reinforcing her message. Her message is simply that we all have emotions both pleasant and unpleasant and that they are important to recognize without the burden of value judgments placed on them... Marla has found a way to help children recognize and verbalize their emotions at a young age, forming the basis of healthy later life emotional intelligence. Marla has also produced her work in a book and CD format, EMOTIONS, for reinforcement of her presentations but the book and CD are very effective used on their own in focusing and helping children to verbalize and honour their emotions.
Professor and Mother University of Toronto
author: Dr. Marlene GoldmanAs we all know, children often have difficulty identifying, understanding, and expressing their volatile emotions and varied feelings, so I was grateful for a fun and creative way to develop my children's vocabulary in this area and their emotional intelligence. I was pleased that my children, a 5 1/2 year-old boy and 3 1/2 year-old girl, were immediately captivated by the energetic music and the humorous and insightful lyrics. The CD quickly became the children's favorite musical entertainment, surpassing Sharon, Lois, and Bram; Dan Zane; and Raffi! To my surprise, both my son and daughter memorized the lyrics, which they delight in reciting, and they now rely on the vocabulary to express their feelings to me and to their friends and family. Marla has subsequently published the EMOTIONS BOOK which is sold together with the CD. This brightly coloured, illustrated book, examines 10 emotions, and it's the perfect tool to promote literacy and to help children identify and express their feelings...Having tested it on my own children, I cannot praise this creative and educational resource enough!
