Mark Wurster is a freelance composer, music educator and church music director currently residing in Clearfield, PA. He is a graduate of Penn State University (Bachelor of Music) and The University of Akron (Master of Music). His compositions have been performed by various university ensembles, and college and church choirs, including the Juniata College Choir and University of Akron Symphony Orchestra. Mark has studied piano with renowned artists such as Steven Smith, Marylene Dosse, and Philip Thompson. He performs with his wife Shawna at various civic and cultural events as a pianist and singer.
The album features original piano selections performed and composed by Mark Wurster. Some of the works feature other instruments such as "Red Rock Fanfare" that incorporates Indian flute and keyboard sounds and "In Remembrance" that also has a flute sound added. Much of the music is easy listening, reminiscent of classical styled music, while some selections are more upbeat in the style of jazz and blues. The last selection "Takin' the Town Till Two" is an upbeat blues selection that is guaranteed to be an exciting, enjoyable listening experience.
