Mark Hobbs – Singer-Songwriter
Mark Hobbs is a singer-songwriter with a passion for real music about real life, finding inspiration in the everyday and inviting listeners to see the beauty and interconnectedness in the otherwise seemingly ordinary. He writes songs that are chiseled out of real experience which echo in the souls of his listeners, offering a fresh perspective.
Mark has loved music for as long as he can remember, teaching himself how to play the guitar as a teenager and singing popular folk and pop/rock tunes. Writing poems and songs about the things he experienced came naturally and his original tunes have earned him a loyal following throughout Northern Illinois. He has performed at venues in the Midwest for over 10 years and is a familiar presence on the local folk scene.
Right out of the gate, Mark starts with writing well-crafted songs that are insightful and stir the senses with vivid imagery and sensory memories. Onto this solid base, Mark serves up his songs with a rich, clear, and resonant voice and intricate guitar arrangements – both of which serve as an excellent canvas for his visceral soundscapes and allow the spirit of his material to really sink in and resonate. There have been people, places, experiences and "visions" that have all found their home with Mark Hobbs - an extraordinary human who enjoys connecting the dots to find relationships between all things...and we get to come along on the adventure.
Mark’s songs will leave imprints on your heart, and it’s likely that you’ll experience the full gamut of emotions, from heartache to laughter, during his intimate performances. You’ll clap your hands, snap your fingers, and tap your toes, and find yourself singing the choruses to his songs long after the concert is over.

Great stuff in Mark's second CD. He has the ability to catch a nice groove and bring a guitar line to fruition. His voice, mixed with the nice guitar work, brings everything together for an easy going style that hits it. Highly reccomended.
I found myself singing along to the catchy tunes
