(About MP3 downloads at CD Baby)

"Change" represents a change in life, a major upheaval and all of the emotions that tend to accompany such elements of life. This album was spawned from my personal move away from everything I knew to a different environment, mentally and physically.

notes

Mark Henry is a pianist, composer, and organist in Arizona who transplanted from southern Louisiana. Piano has always been a passion, he has been playing since age 5. Classical music is his true background; Debussy and Ravel have been key factors in his development, but so have modern artists like Dennis McCarthy, Jim Brickman, and E.S. Posthemus.

Mark found a channel for his music and performance in church. At 15, he recieved his first pianist/accompanist job in Louisiana, and went on to learn the organ. It wasn't until he was hired at the church he grew up in that he saw how people were affected by his music. A church in Arizona now has him as their organist.

In college, spending time with other musicians was a strong point in his development. New compositions from other students helped him to see the different ways people saw music and orchestration. In Arizona, Mark continues to write for piano and loves experimenting with computer technology in his music.
