What a great album! Duval writes about emotions common to anyone who has been around the block a couple of times. The songs capture how all of our personal struggles, and the decisions we make, add up to our common societal struggles - and decisions we make as a nation. That he can pull this off without sound the least bit didactic is a tribute to the quality of his songwriting. Plus, the band can rock! Check out Row or the latin-rock of Bed of Nails. I think my favorite, though, is Wildflower. What a beautiful song, with exquisite harmonies from Traci Suess. Thank you (and damn you) Mr. Duval for making me reflect on (and weep about) my regrets, too. Anyone who is tired of hearing all the immature, whiny crap on pop radio should buy this album - and be refreshed!
