The sound of the Mark is hard to classify into a certain genre, though they often find themselves classified as a Jam Band. The sound is rock with a little jazz, a little funk and a little blues all rolled into one.

notes
THE MARK is a fresh approach to the roots-rock sound. Though their genre-busting style can make it hard to classify them, they often find themselves labeled as a jam band. Backgrounds stem from good time rock and roll, to blues, jazz, folk and funk.
THE MARK's first recording was an engaging single on Ibanez Guitars & TAMA Drums ComPost compilation CD (Bowsh Records). A online contest by Ibanez and TAMA where listeners voted for their favorite track on the CD won THE MARK Bowsh Records “Best Un-Signed Artist of the Year” award for 2004 earning THE MARK the recording time that made Plain As Day Possible, which the band then spent 2005 rehearsing and recording.
THE MARK combines longtime songwriting and performing partners Tom Appleton on lead vocals and acoustic guitar and Mark Capozio on lead guitar with a tight and driving rhythm section featuring Mark Walsh on drums and Tim Komonchak on bass.

Very good players with a strong connection
author: Origivation MagazineThe Mark Plain as Day 3.5 stars Very good players with a strong connection to poppy time signatures and jammy rhythms. The clever lyrics make Plain as Day slightly more digestible than your average local hippy band record. Thomas Appleton's playfully gruff lead vocals and the happy-go-lucky feel of the album is slightly reminiscent of the famed Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem, but covered in bong resin. The album does tend to bleed together a bit, but with the playful, amiable nature of the songs, you kind of want to forgive them that. Bowsh Records www.themarkband.com

Great new Rock/Jam Sound!
author: JR>This CD is a mix of Classic Rock, Great Jam/Space like music, and in depth Lyrics. Almost every song could fit into a different rock category and that is almost unheard of. Give it a listen and judge for yourself, you won't be disappointed.
