notes
Mario DaSilva, a Brazilian guitarist has been performing all his life. He chose guitar as a result of Beatlemania and other 60's rock influences. While still in Brazil, he studied with veteran conductor and arranger Maestro Leo Peracchi, guitarists Salvador Violla and Edmar Fenicio.
Mario has truly developed as an unique, remarkably soulful and creative nylon guitarist. He is the best in the world with his impressions of top 40 radio hits of the 60's, 70's and 80's.
Mario latest three releases are: "Meet Mario", "Christmas Love and Light", and "Mario DaSilva Plays the Beatles (for everyone)". His albums are played nationwide by National Public Radio as musical intervals, and the talk show Delilah After Dark, from Seattle, Washington.
He also has worked with musicians such as Chester Thompson (Phil Collins), Muriel Anderson, Peter Hutlinger, Little Big Town, Rod Murgenstein (Dixie Dreggs), Tribute 1964, Cynthia Clawson, Lari White, Pedro Cortes, and flamenco dancers Felipe de la Rosa, Martha SidHamed and Mara Maldonado.
Mario lives in Nashville, TN and teaches guitar at Belmont University in that city. He is busy performing and recording in the Nashville scene.

The sound and typical approach of classical guitar often escapes all but those who are guitarists or classical music connoisseurs. But not with Mario DaSilva. Arranging songs from Christopher Cross to the Beatles, from Zeppelin to Steely Dan, the Doobie Brothers, the Eagles and James Taylor, these innovative covers are creative, playful and engage the listener with curiosity as he bends and tweaks some of the best songs ever written. Injecting his own sense of musicianship and following his ear for that perfect balance between personal creativity and staying true to the essence of the song, Mario's album, Meet Mario will likely bring smiles and comfort to its audience.
