notes
We often perform live as a duo, and people regularly ask us if they can take some of that home with them. That's the idea behind this album... two guitars, two vocals with some djembe and violin added here and there to spice things up.
Simplicity...unplugged.
This entire CD was recorded over four days at Etienne's house. Nothing fancy, our aim was to capture the simplicity of our unplugged show. It contains 5 "old" songs (from the previous album - new versions though), 4 new ones (that will be on the new album, due next year) and one cover version. We don't do many covers, but Heather Nova's "Like Lovers Do" has always been one of our favourites, so we're including it here.
One could almost say this is something for now, to keep you occupied until the new album arrives in 2008 ;-)

Stunning.
author: RUSSELL PAYNEThis CD is simply stunning. The stripped down tracks really show how talented Etienne and Ami are. All I can say is BUY THIS CD.
just great!
author: David Schneider from RadioFreeDavidall in all, it is an awesome listen and the unplugged nature just lets their talent sparkle and shine. We’re running the title cut Simplicity, as well as Charmless Young Man (we are especially fond of the beginning of this one) and Crazy.
Margaret's Daugther ...Timeless
author: Margaret HollingsworthTalent wins out everytime! Margaret's Daugther's new CD, Simplicity, is simply a work of art. With a fresh sound, incredible vocals, and exquisite instrumentation - The appeal can easily draw a wide range of ages and musical tastes. This a band you can obviously count on ... I'm ready to order their next one..
It’s simple...they’re all great
author: Panda of Doom‘Simplicity’ is exactly as the title states...an acoustic album...and it really doesn’t need more...recorded in a home-studio, it's proof that you don’t need massive budget or funky gimmicks to record a great album, it should, as in this case, just be about the songs. Favourites: simplicity, crazy
Better than Brilliant!
author: Rob OrtonI never thought I would hear a cd better than their last one! But here it is. If I could only say one sentence it would be "Buy this cd", however I can say more, and this cd in my opinion is well recorded and puts the recording quality of some of the MTV unplugged to shame! I prefer this cd to the MTV ones as well. I find the vocals stand out more, which when a voice sounds this good it should do. For me though if I had to pick a favorite track I can only get it to 2 and not 1, these two are the unplugged version of "Prayer" which starts with this amazing guitar work and then this moving violin comes in, and I can not do anything while this song is on other than stop and listen. This is a far more powerful version of the song than is on the previous album. My other song of choice is the Unplugged "Charmless Young Man" which again has some kickass guitar work, and makes me want to learn guitar. Oh something else I can drive my neighbours mad with me learning guitar! However I am crazy trying to pick a favorite as they are all so good, and there is not a bad one on the cd. The problem you will have when it arrives is deciding which of their cd's to play first now they have 2 out! Well enough from me, buy it and enjoy it as much as I do.
