Marcus Gale's new CD, "So Glad!" is a concept record for children, telling the story of the perfect kid day. The record includes odes to the beach, dancing and playtime with best friends and best dogs. "So Glad!" is, in short, a tour de force for those under 4 feet tall.

The tools of Marcus Gale's trade are an acoustic guitar, two puppets named Froggie and Doggie, maracas and a blue cap he calls his "singing hat."

"I think about what a 4-year-old would think about," said Gale of how he writes his songs. "I look around at the world, at nature, at things kids would easily recognize and at basic fun experiences, and I come up with songs like 'Beach Day,' 'Best Friend' and 'My Dog'."

Gale's songs are upbeat, folksy and soothing. With lyrics like "my dog is soft and furry/my dog likes to run/my dog never worries/my dog is lots of fun," Gale keeps it basic.
"My message is that life is good and there is so much that makes you feel so glad," said Gale.

    We are "SO GLAD" we met Marcus! The CD gives my daughter,Juliette (JujuBee) planned reasons to dress up in bathing suits, scarves & tiaras, before Im instructed to "play Marcus now Mummy!" We dance it up throughout the house, yard & car! Is it possible for a 4 year old to become sucha lil groupie @ sucha young age?! Hahaha! Thanks Marcus for making us girls, "SO GLAD"!

  • Perfect Music for Kids and Adults to listen to

    We can not stop listening to So Glad, and when we are not listening to it we are humming it or singing it. The songs are upbeat and make you want to dance. As others have said, the lyrics are clear and easy to learn, allowing you to sing along. The songs put us in a good mood, even when we are not feeling so glad. Our favorite CD by far!

    My kids love Marcus talking before each song. His songs are perfect for kids because they can hear the words clearly and then sing along. These are original songs with words and phrases that kids respond to. Plus - and this is for the parents out there -- this cd is not soooo cutsie that you will go crazy when your kids ask for "Marcus".

    I have 24 children in my preschool classroom. They all start stretching with the first song and get up to move with what ever choices we make that day.     Our twins,Drew and Grace,were born 11 weeks premature and needed early intervention to play catch-up. SO GLAD was a great tool to use for development of language expression. The lyrics are not complex and are sung at a speed that a child can keep up with. We have truely enjoyed the CD and would recommend it to all families. A great investment!

    My 2-yr. old son asks for "Marc" every day. We play "So Glad" so often that Marcus has become like a member of our family. The pace and simplicity of the lyrics allows our son to actually follow the words and (sort of!) sing along. He's picked up several new words from it. He saw a local concert in January (where his Grammy kindly bought the CD) and has listened to it every day since. It's made me realize that this music really makes a difference and that it is empowering to little ones. It's terrific!

    We have been waiting for so long for a new release from Marcus and the wait was worth it! We love the original songs and the upbeat tempo. My 4 year old daughter is a huge fan and loves dancing to the new CD. I am pleased to have new music from Marcus that I enjoy listening to as well!

    I am a 37 year old woman who once playing the CD couldn't help but feel uplifted and wanting to wriggle with wiggle!! Also, the art work was fantastic and went well with the theme of the CD. The picture of the artists on the back emminate the quality of music in and of itself, very pleasurable to listen to, light and airy and reminds me of what it was like when I was once a child, like when I would watch what was popular when I was a child...Sesame Street.
