MARCELLE - Biography
MARCELLE is a former recording artist, and published singer /songwriter (SOCAN / ASCAP) who first got her start in the music industry in 1986 performing at the World Expo. At the young age of three, she was inspired to sing her favourite group; popular 70's band, the Pointer Sisters. Her first public performance occurred when she was 14 and from then onwards, she basically entered every community contest that was available at local Arts Centres, the Pacific National Exhibition and across the USA, always receiving first place finishes!
By the age of 21, she signed to Arimte Productions producing original material that was sold in many stores such as HMV, DJB and the HYPE Records. In addition to this her songs were hits receiving gold airplay on FM Radio Stations such as Z95.3FM and other stations in the US, Australia and Germany.
As time progressed MARCELLE became known to business persons in the music industry which led to record deal and negotiations, a publishing contract! She also inspired interests from indie and major record labels such as A&M Records.
Some of her achievements include, appearances on compilation albums with MCA and KTEL records, next to major recording artists such as Maestro Fresh Wes, Mitsou, and Candi. MARCELLE has opened for various major recording artists such as Viviene Williams.
In 1991 she was crowned Miss Western Canadian Princess at Saturnos in Vancouver BC receiving an award for best talent and later recorded a song called (Never to Late for Love) for songwriter, Eric Kagna, who composed the gold album selling hit song Straight from the Heart for Bryan Adams.
MARCELLE is not only a success in the music industry but in her local community as well, devoting over 10 years of her personal career employed as a lay counsellor working with disadvantaged inner city youth, persons with physical and mental illnesses, and seniors. On many occasions she combined her love and passion for the helping others and her music by performing at various fundraiser events such as the empty Christmas Stocking Fund for the local Vancouver Children's Hospital among many others.
MARCELLE is currently living in Vancouver BC Canada, working with other artists seeking the spotlight and managing several groups. She is open minded caring and offers easy listening music that is great for families and children. All of her songs are about love and happiness and she hopes they will inspire people to live life to the fullest and be thankful for what they have. MARCELLE feels truly blessed to share her music with others and encourages listeners to support "POSITIVE" music artists who carry a positive message.
