notes
As Phil Demetrion freelance reviewer from Paris wrote, "Right from the first track, Marc's emotion-filled vocals, complemented by the crystalline singing of Art Garfunkel, embark on a melodic exploration that takes the listener on an odyssey, shimmering with humor and light. The songs of Stroke of Genius ring with a universal harmony."
The supporting players are deservedly among the most well respected of our time. Steve Gadd, Warren Bernhardt, Art Garfunkel, The Dixie Hummingbirds, Mike Esposito and John Sebastian. They rock with a depth and a tenderness that's hard to find in any age.
BOSTON GLOBE
This CD is not just a collection of songs. It's an album...and I love it.
LOUISE COOGAN, National Record Promoter, Adult Rock Radio
"This is a beautiful record. And the story is so powerful,
Gorgeous sounding."
JIM BARANSKI, CEO National Stroke Association
Marc...listened to the studio mix on my 6 hour flight home.
Amazing...I am so excited about your and Dan's work, and about what we can do for all the survivors in this country not as fortunate to have 'friends' like you. It's time to give them the dignity they so
deserve..
JAY SPICCA, Chronogram
"There are fourteen tracks that feel like a two act play, with seven songs on each side of this tale of before and after. Music and lyrics are a perfect fit, and most of the tunes have simple arrangements that let the soul of the music shine through.
Marc Black is a musical adventurer, stretching effortlessly between techno-funk jams and classic Americana."
JENNIFER NATHAN, WAMC
"Thanks for sending your CD - it sounds great!"
RON ARDEN
"I simply cannot remember when I enjoyed EXPERIENCING an artist and his music as much as I enjoyed you and your friends/band simply ... fuse and celebrate. Gifted artists sharing/experiencing their energies."

Grande album - Great album
author: PaoloMolto belle queste canzoni che uniscono il folk, il blues ed il country. Molto piacevoli da ascoltare mentre si viaggia o in compagnia di amici.
great songs of insight, relevant to issues and thoughts of stroke survivors
author: sedmanMarc has done a great job turning the writings of a stroke survivor during his recovery into relevant and well-done songs, with excellent production values. Many people have written about their recovery from strokes, the thoughts they had, and the issues they encountered, but I believe that this is the first example of expressing these in song. Highly recommended

I had a stroke 3 years ago and this was an amazing story. The lyrics said what I was thinking and the music was how it all felt. It brought me to tears. I thank him for writing it.
