Album Notes

please support Mandyleigh at Sellaband.com .... be a part of the dream! And make a profit! Mandyleigh is a singer/songwriter with a range of over four octaves. Her musical tastes are probably as eclectic as yours, ranging from Blues, Ballads and Jazz through to Dance, Funk, Classical, Gospel and R&B. Mandyleigh doesn`t believe in limiting her listening to a few certain types of music, so why should she limit her songwriting? Mandyleigh has been described as "a hybrid Norah Jones/Mariah Carey/Alannis with Nina Simone`s sugar in her bowl." Have a listen and see what YOU think :) Mandyleigh was born in Southampton, England, and grew up in Perth Australia before returning to England as an adult. After some years in Essex and Kent, Mandyleigh returned to Perth, Australia in June 2005. All of Mandyleigh`s songs come from the heart, and many were inspired by her struggling through suicidal depression after her Uncle died... "It`s Not You" is about his death, and this cd is dedicated to his memory. "A mixture of sadness and hope, love and triumph, Mandyleigh`s sensuous voice will make you feel and her deep lyrics will make you see." The up-beat "Stop There" and "Keep The Silence" are a testament to the courage needed to face and overcome depression from someone who knows. "Grey" is a guitar/piano ballad that was written by another songwriter about Mandyleigh and her depression at the time. Writing songs is what helped Mandyleigh overcome her illness and others have also felt their honest healing power for themselves. "Sarah`s Song" is (funnily enough) about Mandyleigh`s sweet niece, "Don`t Walk The Line Alone" was written for her mother who fought through cancer, and the others are about life and love, in a pop/rock, jazz and piano ballad mixture. Ultimately this albums theme is strength, love, hope and triumph. It is uplifting and healing. Mandyleigh has just begun. I know you will enjoy the music again and again as much as Mandyleigh enjoyed creating it. She`ll touch your heart. Love & Light always. Mandyleigh
