notes

Kristin Mainhart

Kristin Mainhart is a New York vocalist whose prodigious talent at the mic is equaled only by her striking ability as a songwriter. Singing almost before she could talk, Kristin's musical sensibility has developed in the long tradition of sultry female singers whose inner strength is belied by a yielding sensitivity, startling in its intimacy. Combining lyrics stripped down to their emotional core with a vocal range encompassing the spectrums of harmony and feeling, power and tenderness, Kristin will melt your heart one minute and break it the next.
And a pretty face never hurts.

Khromozomes exist somewhere in New York City; a mad scientist, whose underground musical laboratory is the nucleus for experiments that break down the viral strains of monotony infesting the hip-hop landscape. With a mixture of plush instrumentals and wicked beats, Khromozomes concocts an elixir of moody tracks guaranteed to sooth the boredom blues, or double your money back

Kristin Mainhart is the Voice. Khromozomes provides the Beats. Hip-hop, Trip-hop, call it what you will; it's music that will open your eyes, even as it moves your body.

  • Really Good Sound

This CD was bought for me and my sister. I have it in my car and listen to it daily. My sister has already burned a couple of copies for her friends,,only kidding. She likes it a lot as well.

  • great voice, great music ...

... great album. trippy downtempo songs, tastefully arranged, some electronics, yet lots of guitars as well, and a really strong voice. the album also shows the flexibility, of both the singer and the musicians, it's not all trip-hop, some stuff is almost rock, there is an actual ballad, some songs are synthy stuff, others contain orchestral elements, some stuff is lo-fi and so on. great album, but i said that already :)

  • Not your average pop princess

I have to admit it was her name that first caught my eye, but after listening to Stranger Things, Kristin's writing and vocal talents grabbed my full attention. This CD is well worth your time and attention. Kristin may well be the excuse I need for a trip to NYC to hear her perform live!

It's a fun album. Refreshing opener, moody "trip-hop" songs, stunning title track, some guitars, very good voice...get this, it's good, trust me! Thanks for this album and thumbs up for Kristin! ;-))
