the maguires were close friends of janette carter before her death in january of 2006. we were guests in her home in hiltons virginia. ** home of the original carter family** a few times. janette was the daughter of ap. and sarah carter of the original carter family. she told us many times that we must not let the old time country music started by her family die and we promised her that we would do our best to see that her music was carried on. her son dale and daughter rita are doing a really great job at the **carter fold** since their mothers passing **a music place started by janette in the early seventies to keep her familys music alive**. they have music there every saturday night. the music's great the clogging is great and the people simply grand. we hope that you will enjoy our humble efforts to do all we can to carry on the work of one of the greatest ladies we've ever known.we miss you janette! ps: janette recieved the heritage award from president bush shortly before her passing for her great work and dedication to the old time country music.
