Magical David (AKA "David Yorke") has performed live music for over 500,000 children & adults at live venues ranging from the largest Stadiums such as the Hartford Meadows (15,000 kids and parents attended) to Town Music Halls, Auditoriums, Theaters, Community Centers and more intimate settings. The children's songs from his albums, Singing With Friends, Beautiful Planet and Papa Panda are almost all originals, some written with audience (kids) participation in coming up with the final lyrics.The songs encourage imagination and creative thought as well as love and respect for the environment and fellow human beings.
David has also been featured in the New York Times and various other newspapers and magazines from around the USA as welll as on select radio stations
David was trained as a classical violinist from age 6 to 20. At the same time, he enjoyed playing by ear and played country, blue grass and blues and left the orchestra in college to play in a blue grass band. He has played guitar since the age of 12 and studied voice for eight years. David also performs original tunes in adult clubs; he was a winner of a singer songwriter contest at Folk City in Greenwich Village. He also enjoys singing Jazz standards in clubs and does classical repetoire for fun with internationally awarded pianist-accompanist, Mr. Leo Shih.
