notes
Mad Laughter keeps today's audience in mind while nevertheless drawing from many classic influences in their overall original metallic approach. Their newly released c.d. entitled "The Shined" draws from such old school greats as Black Sabbath, Kiss, Van Halen (Roth era), Megadeth, old Metallica, and Yngwie Malmsteen, as well as the more modern Alice In Chains and Disturbed. The band has the perspective that in playing clubs there is room for a sense of humor- hints of this turn up on the c.d. Guitarist/vocalist Matt Gyarmaty won the very last Milwaukee/WI Guitar Wars competition held at the late TA Verns, drummer Tony Brandt has opened for the likes of Slayer in a band called Phantasm, and bassist Lee Groth's marketing saavy and sense of humor have helped to make 'Mad Laughter' a well known name around Milwaukee. As for the c.d., click on the audio tracks and decide for yourself-what do you got to lose? Thanks to all who read this.

Let's face the hard cruel reality
author: Steve SomersLet's face it, in today's high speed computer age with our fancy digital music players and our cd burners there really isn't a single decent reason to buy new cd's, because we all know you can just burn a copy off someone else. So why should anyone in their right mind shell out 12 big ones for a new cd? The answer becomes completely obvious once you pick up a copy of Mad Laughter's new CD "the Shined". The artwork gracing the cover of this virgin release by Milwaukee booze rock icons MAD LAUGHTER has got to be the greatest piece of album art, nay -- the best piece of modern american art to be created in the last 4 decades. This is only rivaled by the amazing cd imprint and spectacular lyric insert. Look around your house, chances are the decorations suck hairy ass, a dreamcatcher here, a wolf dish there, and maybe a candle holder you made back in high school shop class. Now you can bring the opulence of truly great artwork to your very own home. First buy the cd, then get a frame to keep that cover in. No wallspace you say? Don't worry, just take down that photo collage of your illegitimate children in your livingroom/kitchen and hang up that bad ass cover and watch as your friends and family see you in a whole new light. Suddenly you have class, charm and a bigger dick. And the music ain't bad either.
