notes
This album is full of many great traditional celtic tunes. Ashley is from Glengarry county, an area deeply rooted in the celtic music scene. Over the years, Ashley has competed and performed at many events throughout Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes, bringing home many awards. In 1998 she performed at the Canadian Grand Masters Championships in the junior showcase as one of four young artists across Canada. Now Ashley travels throughout North America with celtic group Hadrian's Wall. Ashley also tours with the four-time World Champion Simon Fraser University Pipeband from BC. In September 2003 she performed with the Ottawa Police Pipeband at the prestigious Carnegie Hall in New York City. In 2004 she appeared on CMT Canada with country artist Johnny Reid during a christmas special.
So, in other words if you enjoy celtic music, you are gauranteed to enjoy Ashley's album with lots of energetic and fun toe-tapping tunes - one you will never forget!

A very talented fiddler from Glengarry County
author: Stuart NeillI just received my early Christmas present from CD Baby. Ashley's first CD is a very strong effort. I particularly enjoyed "Memoriees of Margaret Nixon", written by her father. She reminds me of a young Natalie MacMaster in some ways. I am really looking forward to seeing Ashley perform live in the Ottawa area.
a massage through music
author: Skee HolmesAshley is one of the premo violinists of the year, coming on strong, playing with energetic vitality, strength, and precision while producing some of the most relaxing and mysitcal fiddle playing I have heard! Her patience and laid back attitude on stage, (I saw her in Hartford, CT.), only magnifies the gift she has keeping your attention with not only her talent with the fiddle, but her confident movements on stage as she walks, struts, and occasionally does a partial Irish jig while playing. She comes across as a coy violinists, dressed in black, long blonde hair in a pony tail, a child like smile knowing she has nothing to prove playing as if she was born with a fiddle, no effort and all talent! She is a natural since mimicing her father's lessons to a student at a very young age and today she's a gem! A true wonder!
Fun, thoughtful, warm, toe-tapping music!
author: John A. - WAWas hooked by the preview of Margaret's Waltz and bought it immediately. Ashley covers a wide range of emotion in From The Heart Of Glengarry - all of it fantastic! Glengarry must be truly be magical...
I love it!
author: R.R. LunanThis is my favorite fiddle CD and Ashley MacLeod has become one of my favorite artists. I saw her perform live last year (she is an amazing performer) and I bought her CD on the spot. Many of the songs on this CD capture both her outstanding abilities and the essence of the Celtic music that is part of her Glengarry heritage. One of the most astounding things about this type of music is that it is popular across generations I know people in their teens, 20's , 30's, 40's , 50's and 80's personally who like this CD. Way to go Ashley! Can't wait for your next CD to come out. I'm wearing this one thin by playing it all the time. RRL
