notes

"Lynda Jones is a true artist. Her songs spring from a deep creative source. Her musical range is a panorama from New Orleans to Transylvania, no guile or manipulation. Just beautifully memorable melodies, direct lyrics and uncompromising performance. It's good to have her on the planet."
--Floyd Domino, two-time Grammy Award winning pianist

"...Lynda Jones creates incredibly beautiful music, in which elements of country, folk, classical music and rock meet ian original and fresh way."
-- Jan Gardberg, Uusi Nainen (The New Woman)

She comes straight from the heart. Then, she dives right back into it. Lynda's lyrics explore the bare truths-truths about love, loss, and faith in the human spirit. Her voice is filled with a wisdom that captures the audience with its honesty and humility. Her songs unwind into universal stories that ask thought-provoking questions while at the same time comforting the listener with their subtle humor.

Lynda grew up on a cattle ranch in rural Oklahoma with four older brothers. She began playing piano as a young child, developing a unique style that blends her classical piano training with traditional gospel, country and rock styles. She is an author, a freelance writing coach, and an avid equestrian. No barriers exist between her heart and the world she explores.

From the mountains to the recital hall, Lynda traverses life's journey embracing the entire prism of human emotions, delivering light-hearted love songs, then delving into the darker, more melancholy chambers of the human heart. Her honesty and humor are infectious, her performance soulful. Lynda's debut CD, Tangle of Love, comes only four years after writing her first song; produced by renowned percussionist Paul Pearcy, Tangle of Love is an eclectic tapestry woven with folk, country, rock and spiritual blues.

Tangle of Love begins with a stellar band-Floyd Domino, Kenny Grimes, Jon Inmon, Glenn Fukunaga and Paul Pearcy. As producer, Pearcy creates a delightful panorama of Lynda's many styles. A dark, melancholy mood is enhanced by background vocals from Kimmie Rhodes in the hauntingly familiar "Beethoven Had A Lover." On fiddle, Eamon McLoughlin of the Greencards sparks the heart in the uplifting tunes "My Baby Makes My Little Light Shine," and "When All You've Got Is Love."

Lloyd Maines joins Lynda "In the Valley," delivering a raw, honest steel guitar and piano duo. With Michael Shay on cello, Steve Samuel on vibes, and Danny Young rockin' his Texas rub board, this debut CD offers rich and varied performances-spirited and soulful tones that come together in celebration of love.

  • A rare pearl !!

A lot of great songs and heartfelt lyrics, the kind of music that lifts you up when you're feeling down, a lovely record, of a kind that's far too rare in the world today... "Pocket Full Of Hopes" and "Beethoven Had A Lover" stand out as the catchiest songs, perhaps, but "In The Valley" is really beautiful, too. In fact, almost every track is great in its own way, which is pretty rare on new records today. A rare pearl in the pile of c..p that is today's music world!!

  • T'is wonderful, pleasing, and moving, exemplary voice.
