notes

In addition to being a highly regarded painter, Rob Lynch is known as a go to drummer for such artists as Ani Difranco mentor Michael Meldrum, 10,000 Maniacs alumni John and Mary, Bloodshot Records artist Rex Hobart and legendary songsmith Peter Case among many others. In 2002, Lynch released his prized debut double album, "Welcome to Sound", which brought him acclaim as an adventurous songwriter, multi instrumentalist and producer. The Buffalo News called the record "One of the best releases of the year, period. Stunning". That record caught the ear of the Goo Goo Dolls bassist Robby Tacak, who invited Rob to mix a new material at his state-of-the-art Chameleon West Studios.

On his second double album, Rob Lynch has created a thick and unique work of odd ball beauty. "Gift Songs from a Lovely, Puzzling Sea" is composed of twenty five songs that twinkle and brood among the ruins. It’s an intense and extended record made to parallel the heartbreaking and mysterious events that inspired it. Generous portions of sonic trickery spring from swirling mixes that feel every bit as intense and curious as loss itself. "Gift Songs from a Lovely, Puzzling Sea" will make you laugh nervously in public and bawl in private. Each package includes four of twelve Rob Lynch paintings in sticker form. Enjoy!
