Luna Trick is the creative brainchild of English multi-Instrumentalist, Daniel Staniforth. Classically trained as a Cellist, Staniforth crafts an array of songs styles - ranging from alt-pop/rock to widely experimental. His hybridized guitar style renders many different sonic colours, which are further enhanced by his willingness to explore different instrumentation. Luna Trick is hard to pidgeon-hole in that it fuses many different elements, from darkwave, electronica, space-funk, to ethereal. Two CDs are scheduled for release from Flowforth Productions in March/April 2008 - "Total Submersion" and "Hoar Frost Sheen." Earlier recordings were circulated in California under the moniker - Luna Sea - and there are plans to release reworked versions of some of that material. Staniforth also composes ambient, neo-classical, and soundtrack type pieces under his own name - and a classical album is forthcoming later in the spring. As a Writer and Literature scholar, Staniforth creates something he refers to as "Sonic Poetscapes." When not composing music, Staniforth works at Naropa University’s famous Summer Writing Program and teaches English at MSCD.
