The current CD presented here, “Guitar Island”, is the newest project of Richard Hecks and “Luna Blanca”. Together with Helmut Graebe, Richard Hecks composed a series of new pieces for the recording. Helmut Graebe is also involved as pianist. The rhythm guitars are played by the European-wide famous flamenco guitarist Bino Dola and percussion award winner Sascha Pöpping plays the drums. Producer Clemens Paskert provided excellent mixing and recording quality. In addition, he plays the bass and additional keyboards.
This CD provides listeners with the unforgettable delight of new sounds and creations: It conveys an extraordinary and pleasant sound of harmony.

The 3rd release for Luna Blanca, GUITAR ISLAND is a delightfully uplifting musical journey featuring eleven irresistible, original compositions by Hecks and the band’s pianist Helmut Graebe. The critically-acclaimed ensemble performs throughout Europe from larger festivals such as Germany’s sold out Bocholt concert “Just4Fun” to more intimate gatherings involving food and music pairing; the press has dubbed these smaller events “Flamenco Culinario.” In addition to Hecks and Graebe, Luna Blanca enjoys collaborative efforts on GUITAR ISLAND from famous European Flamenco guitarist Bino Dola on rhythm guitar, award-winning percussionist Sascha Popping and bassist/keyboardist Clemens Paskert who also assisted with recording and mixing. The song "Midnight" is steady and mesmerizing like a night sky. You can picture yourself walking along a moonlit beach when, in the distance, you see a campfire. Coming from its direction you begin to make out the transcendental vibrations of Luna Blanca. Spirited acoustic guitars invite you to relax while the language of latin rythm urges you to sway and dance.
