Woods Project.
Luke Anthony was born in 1973 in Shoreham-by-Sea. He studied composition at
Royal Holloway College, London with John Woolrich and Peter Wiegold. He then
studied in Milan with Anne-Marie Turcotte. He is currently studying for a
PhD at Brunel Universty with Colin Riley and Joe Duddel.
He has had works performed at the Clore Studio, The Royal Opera House, The
Queen Elizabeth Hall, South Bank Centre and at the Edinburgh festival. He
has worked extensively with Snag Dance Company, Roscian Theatre Productions
and The Laban Dance Foundation. His most recent commission was a piece for
Orchestra, ‘Flight’ premiered by the South Bank Sinfonia in March 2006 at
St. John’s Waterloo.
His Saxophone Concerto, written for Tony Woods, was premiered on the 27th
September 2006 by The Sound Collective Orchestra with Tony Woods as soloist.
His new album entitled Saxophone Concerto is to be released in May 2007 on
handmedownmusic.
