Louis Landon on the recording of "unwind":
I am still in awe of the organic process that happened with the making of this CD.
What inspired me was hearing the recorded piano sounds that PAUL HIRSCH was getting at ROSE'S LOUNGE STUDIOS. That led to five sessions of very creative composing, performing, and improvising. With the finished pieces of music I had no idea how to move forward. I was in new age music territory and I was too close to the music to put the songs in any kind of order for the CD. It was here that I had the good fortune of connecting with WILL ACKERMAN, new age guitarist and founder of WINDHAM HILL RECORDS. Will advised me on song order. He also encouraged me to take the time to edit out a short piece of music from a long improvisational piece that I had recorded. That song became "Majestic Sunrise," and it is one of my favorite pieces on the CD. I ended up having CORIN NELSEN master my project at Will's IMAGINARY ROAD STUDIOS. I am extremely happy with the results. This music is melodic, optimistic, and peaceful. Enjoy!
Louis Landon's personal mission in life is to create a more peaceful world by writing and performing music from the heart.
What professionals are saying about "unwind":
"I loved your new CD. I just finished uploading the new show to the website, so it will be up there from now until next Sunday am. I used two pieces: "Feel" and "Alone". So, so good. I also put a link to your website under my "Musicians" links. It is such a pleasure to receive something that is this good. Music like yours keeps the bar raised higher. Thank you for giving me something worth playing. Anne Williams/Nightscapes/internet radio

author: MoniqueI first heard Louis playing a "concert" in Second Life! I was immediately compelled to purchase his album so I could also hear him in my "First" life. =)
A pleasantly surprising album!
author: Konrad BukowskiI have to say that I'm not the biggest fan of classical music, but when I heard some these songs on Pandora I just had to get the album. While it is all piano music it doesn't quite conform to the "classical formula" it is certainly modern and, what is best about it, the tracks do actually calm you down! Get this if you enjoy piano or if you're just after easy listening - but what is undeniable is that it actually calms and soothes. Thanks a lot Louis for such a beautiful album!

calming music for a hectic life
author: CafmbossAlone in a quiet hotel room warming up to the hectic day ahead, this CD encourages calming thoughts and slowed heartbeat.
Stress Relieving and Relaxing
author: Virtual To RealityAlway a good listen, but essential on my bad days. My stress simply flows from my system better than a candle lit hot bubble bath. Louis has truly raised the mark in this aptly named musical masterpiece.
Atmospheric...evocative and serene...
author: alan jamesThis is one of those bodies of music that is atmosheric in nature. The listener travels along a winding path following the beautiful cascading piano work that weaves throughout this album...coming in endless waves, each one overtaking the one before...always moving into previously uncharted territory...
Your music is especially "perfect" when it's raining.
author: WendiI just wanted to let you know that I stole the CD from home and listen to it all the time at work. I work in a very "zen" atmosphere looking out at the San Francisco Bay. Your music is especially "perfect" when it's raining. At that moment, I wouldn't want to be anywhere else, but where I am. (I happen to love my job, which helps with the joy). Thanks for being part of my workday.
You really get pleasure from this music.
author: Serge Kozlovsky translated by Tatyana L. Permyakova"Unwind" is a debut of a an acknowledged musician Louis Landon in the new age genre who appeared on scene together with many jazz celebrities and who is also well-known for his works for television and a number of successful albums recorded by him already. From the very first seconds "Unwind" makes you feel quiet. This is the music of serenity and harmony. You just can stay alone with you thoughts and feelings and listen to very sincere, emotional music by Louis Landon. In essence "Unwind" is an album-improvisation. Louis Landons music is very ingenious, without hesitation he splashes out all he possesses at the moment. He just likes to share his emotions with those around him, to give a part of his heart up. By its sounding "Unwind" resembled the best works of legendary Windham Hill Records to me. And it is not by chance as far as editing and mastering of the album is made by Corin Nelsen at William Ackermans Imaginary Road Studious. And it was William Ackerman who encouraged Louis Landon with advice and support. Just so a long improvisation turned to a short composition "Majestic Sunrise" which appears to be one of the most splendid on the disc. In general "Unwind" does not include weak compositions. The album is being listened to as a single whole. This music is free of false significance. The musician has enough to be shared with others and he does it in very gentle and delicate manner. His piano solo is masterly. You really get pleasure from this music. It is alongside with you like this bright sunny day which came not for a special purpose but just for the reason that it could not be otherwise. And the sun shines just for the reason that it cannot but shines and warms you with its rays. And a flower, you see it before your eyes, it is in blossom, it is just destined to bloom. And the album "Unwind" is like a beautiful flower which is blooming out its petals to the rising sun. There is a real life in this music. It just exists here and now "Unwind" is the music of genuine feelings.
Musical Massage
author: Kathy ParsonsAs its title implies, “Unwind” is a soothing collection of original piano solos by pianist/composer Louis Landon. A jazz pianist with an impressive list of performing credentials, both as a soloist and as part of various bands and combos, Landon has an easy, melodic style that is warmly optimistic and accessible, yet complex enough to keep it interesting with repeated listens. I hear a lot of relaxing piano music, but “Unwind” stands out as an exceptional CD with its quiet sophistication and gentle elegance. “My Brooke” opens the CD with a sweetly melodic love song. Lyrical and a little bit wistful, this is a lovely beginning. “I Can See” is just a shade darker and somewhat more introspective - perhaps a kind of musical soliloquy. Very nice! “Feel” has a warm, easy grace about it that is almost conversational. “Mindfulness” is more abstract and ambient with lots of open space between the chords - interesting and evocative. “Peaceful” is the perfect title for this gorgeous piece - a gentle musical massage for the mind. “Freefalling” has a floating, dreamy quality that meanders at its own pace. “Alone” is one of my favorites. A little more melancholy than the other pieces, its intimacy and emotional honesty are deeply felt. “Music For Michael” returns to a somewhat more ambient, improvisational style that drifts along at its own unhurried pace. “Childhood’s End” closes the set with an emotional free-form piece that is reflective and touching. “Unwind” is Louis Landon’s sixth CD to date, but is the first one I’ve heard. It’s a treat for the ears and mind, and the perfect way to de-stress and relax. Good stuff! If you visit www.louislandon.com, but sure to check out his vocal piece, “Donald Trump Can Kiss My Butt” on the “CD’s” page - it’s a hoot!
Light and simple, but permeated with heartfelt performances.
author: Michael WoodheadLight and simple, but permeated with heartfelt performances, Unwind invites you to do exactly that. As with much New Age Jazz, Landon's music avoids the usual discord often associated with jazz music, and offers a flowing, moody environment instead-- Peaceful and Freefalling , for example, lightly spring with jazz-like rhythms, but fall gently on the ears; and My Brooke , with its delicate refrains, has touches of pop music. Although not suitable for meditation or massage therapy, nevertheless, Unwind offers a good hour's worth of relaxing music. Deeply subjective in their creation, Landon's compositions and playing draw you into a world of personal warmth and joyousness meant for you to share one-on-one. Louis Landon says his "personal mission in life is to create a more emotional world by creating and performing music from the heart". On this album, he begins to achieve that dream.

The title says it all! UNWIND! Louis Landon's latest musical endeavor is a combination of inspiration, deep-breathing and escapism melted into an hour of bliss.

The soulful simplicity of this music touches my heart.
author: Michaela HughesThis CD has become a peaceful sountrack to my life. I play it constantly! There is a soulfull simplicity expressed in this music. I'm usually not a big fan of "just piano" music but Mr. Landon has surprised me with an amazing CD, rich with emotion and soul. I feel it is music where the artist has connected to a deep sense of being and perhaps channeled the human heart. I congratulate him as an artist and thank him as a listener.
