notes
The Louie's are a 3 piece Rock-n-Roll band based out of Dixon Il. Formed in 2002 as an all Acoustic cover band, the Louie's performed locally for around a year then added the "Electric" to the set. Led by "The Deacon" Jeff (Frank) Sharp on guitar and vocals, and the rhythm section of brothers Dave Bushman (Bass) and Tim Bushman (Drums) the Louie's began writing and recording their own material.
The first CD, "Fruit of the Louie's" was recorded at Cellar Records (Dixon) and released Feb. 04. "Fruit" was very well received, showing the different styles of The Louie's. From pop to punk to hillbilly, just "Rock-n-Roll" is the best label you can put on it.
In the Spring of '05, the Louie's were chosen by Taxi as a finalist for Discmakers "Independant Music World Series". Billboard Magazine then chose The Louie's as one of the top 6 for the Midwest IMWS. Where they competed at the Elbo Room (Chicago) for the title. Chicago Hip Hop band "Treologic" won this event, but it was a great experience!
The Louie's are:
Tim Bushman - Drums/Vocals
Jeff Sharp - Guitar/Vocals
Dave Bushman - Bass/Vocals

great stuff!
author: captain crunchI bought this cd not too long ago. This is the second Louies CD I've purchased. I bought their first album, "Fruit of the Louies" a few years back. I loved that first CD and just about burned it up from too much play in my car CD player. So when I heard that they had a new disc, I had to have it! But honestly, I did figure that there would be no way that the new CD would be even close to as good as the first one. You know, the old soph. jinx!! Most of the new bands these days shoot their whole wad on the first album and then they put out 1 or 2 more crappy ones, and then they just fade away. I don't think this is going to happen with the Louies!! I am happy to say that the new album, "No bells and Whistles" kicks friggin' arse! What more can I say but, BUY THIS SOB!!!
