Proclaiming the world to be mostly organized chaos, lopside's founding members Tom and Dean have given up trying to make sense of things. Instead, they've committed to spending as much of their time as possible doing the things they love.
Through sound and picture (admittedly in no particular order and of no particular consequence) the members of lopside have chronicled the last year of their lives with the progressive ambient sounds contained in the current releases decemberjune and junedecember. "This way, when we are 65 and forgetful, and in the last years of our day jobs turned careers, we can remember what fun it was to be alive."

Lopside is great ... for what it is
author: WattsianA pleasant, inoffensive, interesting mixture of guitar-driven techno-flavored instrumental music, this Lopside album makes for great listening on headphones because it's not repetitive and, agreeing with the previous review, has a human soul amidst its keyboarding. That same human soul and gentleness makes it great background music. This is the second Lopside album I've listened to, and I'd say if you like one, you'll like them ALL.
It's a shame that no one knows about lopside
author: Eli SaadiqIt's a shame that this cd hasn't received the much needed recognition it deserves in the realm of electronica music or simply in the world of artistry. As cliche as it may sound, I don't have the words to best describe this beautifully woven collection of sound. In some ways, it reminds me of the calm, mellow, creative, analytical, & introspective mood that music such as Sasha's Airdrawndagger and Shadow's down tempo soaked beats give me. Every single track is honest & meaningful & not just a bunch of fruity loops forced together to make a quick buck or two. Instead, the music is often dreamy, smooth, and cinematic. Bottom line: this album has without a doubt, plenty of soul to keep any lost soul in musical bliss. To name a few, Kilimanjaro and shot in the face are simply beautiful & hypnotic pieces of work. The composition of contrasting yet complimenting sounds will leave you happy that groups like lopside exist. After all, they are always in the process of creating & evolving. Do yourself a favor & just listen.
