notes
Born in New Orleans in a musical family, Robert Earl Longley first heard the flamenco guitar of Carlos Montoya from an old scratchy LP from the early 60's. After experiencing his first Montoya concert at the tender age of 11, Robert knew he had to play the guitar.
Robert played the local club scene in New Orleans an many subsequent tours throughout the U.S. After ten years of touring, he decided to return to his roots and began to study more classical and flamenco techniques. In 1990-92, he took first place in eight of eight guitar competitions in Southern California.
Robert weaves a very distinctive style indeed--a beautifully orchestrated neo-classical/flamenco fusion of world music. The listener will instantly discern that Robert's approach is both heartfelt and seductive, leading one on an emotional-filled journey. Robert has produced eight CDs to date.
In his nuevo-flamenco style, Robert comes full circle in this collection of instrumentals, so many have come to love. He breathes new passion and romance into the flamenco guitar, uplifting the heart and soul. This guitar virtuoso eloquently states his guitar poetry. This album is sure to conjure sensous imagery, to delight the imagination, and to become your sanctuary.

Wonderful, passionate playing
author: LauraI enjoyed this CD of Robbie's very much - it's a nice blend of fiery flamenco and more mellow songs and is the best Sunday-listening CD that I now own!
