notes
Powerful. Rich. Enticing. Quixotic. Moving. Exciting.
Words that evoke images, ideas, thoughts and emotions.
Words that describe music.
Words that describe the music of, Lojo Russo.
In her latest CD, Stoic Abandon, Lojo Russo desires us to take a chance. To think outside of the music box and believe that these words, stoic and abandon, are not opposites, but merely a reflection of themselves, of life.
Using powerful vocals, rich guitar work and enticing lyrics she captures ordinary experiences and makes them something extraordinary.
I’m Sorry takes a simple phrase and gives it a depth of such breathtaking understatement.
Girrrl involves us in her revelation of an adult tomboy finding her ‘inner girl’.
And, something as insignificant as the smell of juniper triggers a longing so vital that you’ll wonder, “when was the Last Time I Thought About California?”
It’s the balance; soft/loud, rock/folk, stoic/abandon that makes this album adventurous. Lojo Russo makes it human.

Love it!!
author: LisaLove this CD. It has been in my CD player since I got it...about a week now.
Fun, off beat, yet can reach into the soul
author: ShellyGreat music! ORIGINAL lyrics. Folk-blues-rock all rolled into one hard to do yet easily attained by this artist. An interesting mix of lyric topic on the CD...not focused on one topic - which is nice.
