notes

Walk on the border of irony and paradox, of comedy and wisdom, of self-actualization and self-reference. From the words and biting acoustic guitar work of MOLE, to the gifted basswork (and fuzz-basswork) of Bob Dorn, the songs and performance of Logs in the Mainstream will never leave you bored. Shocked, happily surprised, perhaps even confused, but never bored.

The Logs story begins in 1990 as a progressive punk band. The band's early material can be heard their first Corporate Greed release, I Know I am But what Are You? On songs such as "For Better or Worse" and "Driving in New Jersey", the band would jump through four different musical styles in less than 3 minutes.

With Acaustic (the 2nd Logs release), the group shifted from punk to acoustic and lodged itself firmly in the New Jersey and New York City songwriter's/acoustic circuit. The unique musical approach continued to stand out, but the lyrical irony -- simultaneously humorous and wise -- had enabled the group to win crowds over where they weren't able to before.

Armed with a growing respect in the press, Logs hired long-time producer Frank to operate the "unique" drum programming as well as back the band up with its more unusual instrumentation (such as the dij).

Logs recently featured in the Sunday Star Ledger, the Asbury Park Press, and the Star Ledger Ticket
