Lo-Fi (Fridgeir Eyjolfsson) is a one-man Icelandic trip-hop band. Founded in early 1998 after several years of working with various bands on the Icelandic music scene, Lo-Fi completed his first album titled "Nano" later that year. All music and lyrics on the album were written by Lo-Fi and it was recorded and produced entirely at his home studio. For this project Lo-Fi recruited the talents of three female singers, three guitarists, one piano player, and a bongo drummer, making his debut release a "dreaming and flowing whole". The theme of the album is the death of a nano machine after flowing timelessly through the veins. Icelandic critics reacted very positively, praising the excellent production quality and synergy of song writing and musical arrangement.

Currently Lo-Fi is in Barcelona working on his second album, tentatively titled "Night songs", which is scheduled to be released early 2004. Lo-Fi 's concept for this album is brown and raw yet still incorporating the sleepy voices and melancholy blue tones of his previous release "Nano".

    I like this a lot, it's not over produced and it sounds effortless but i think there is hidden feeling in the tracks. Overall very good and quite refreshing.

    This is a very entrancing ambient CD using some beautiful sounds. Everything fits together in this record, and which has variation at just the right moments, at just the moment you start thinking why it's still the same, the CD changes. This power, a very dangerous thing because when timed incorrectly the CD might get boring, is used well, keeping the repetetiveness as an entrancing power, without causing irritation and boredom. Buy it and you will be happy......
