notes
Because everyone needs an ultimate fantasy... "A Striking Resemblance" - Laurie Larson's third CD continues to build upon superb songwriting and musicianship. Unlike most albums with only one or two good tracks, each song on this CD can stand on its own. It sounds like a greatest hits CD, but all songs were written by Laurie Larson in the last few months, with the exception of "Artist's Mirage Two" - a rearrangement of the title track to her first album she wrote in (2001), and one of the counter melodies in "True to Nature" she wrote in (1984). The title track will be featured in Relix Magazine's CD sampler in November! "1 Realm" is featured in Global Rhythm's Sampler & the Acoustic Rainbow sampler. "A Call to Action" can also be found on Global Rhythm Magazine's CD Sampler.
The top notch musicians who were on her previous release, "Aquila" return:
Ed DeLucia (Ronstadts): Guitars
Ralph Gilmore (Grass Roots): Drums
Jim Brady (Neil Young, Linda Ronstadt): Bass
Special thanks to special guest Jim Roberts (he has produced, performed on or engineered records for John Entwistle, Steve Walsh, Kansas & Leslie West). Jim plays the Hammond B3 on the first track "Endless Thank You Loop" and he mixed "Artist's Mirage Two".
The rest of the mixing was done by Jim Brady at his studio in Tucson, Arizona.

Another Dreamy Delight from Laurie Larson
author: Paul MonacoIt seemed like so long ago when I first was introduced to Laurie Larson through her 2006 CD titled Aquila. Back then I was running iKissFM, a streaming online radio station on the Live365 network. Though I’m no longer doing streaming audio I was pleasantly surprised when I received an email from Laurie promoting her latest CD release titled A Striking Resemblance. As with her other compilations this is one album you really need to listen to for yourself. She’s one of those artists where you can’t just pigeon hole her into one specific category but dreamy vocals is the thread that elegantly holds it all together. Run on over to CD Baby and give Laurie Larson a listen for yourself, you’ll be hard pressed not to click the buy button to hear the full celestial qualities of her voice and top notch accompaniments from Ed DeLucia on guitars (Ronstadts), Ralph Gilmore on drums (Grass Roots) and Jim Brady on Bass (Neil Young, Linda Ronstadt) as well as special guest Jim Roberts (The John Does) playing the Hammond B3 on the first track “Endless Thank You Loop” as well as mixing “Artist’s Mirage Two” Be sure to check out Laurie Larson’s MySpace page as well!
Striking New Release
author: Nick - Melodic Revolution RecordsLaurie shines on her 3rd Solo Release, A Striking Resemblance. Her voice is dreamy and smooth. Laurie truly is an original and her wonderful music and style will draw you in like a great novel by Joanne Harris (chocolat, five quarters of the orange) the music is crisp and clean reminiscent of an era when radio played your favorite new music by the like’s of Jefferson Airplane, Sandy Denny, Sprit and Poco to name a few. A Striking Resemblance is melodic from the opening track Endless Thank You Loop to the closing track Corporate Chew Toy. Once again Laurie is backed buy some of the finest musicians in the business, and the production will satisfy even the most discriminate audiophile.

Good,Good,Good
author: Mike OstromThis is GOOD ! From the opening drum beat on the first song Endless Thankyou Loop to "the voice" that ends the last song Corporate Chew Toy- this is a fun CD. Artist Mirage Too and the title track are my favorites at this moment but I like all the songs. Vocals and instruments are layered in a way that you just dont hear these days, it really is a special sound all through this CD. I respect anyone that can create a melody and Laurie sure can. The performance of the musicians should also be noted, very cool sounds here- good job all of you. Laurie should be very proud of this release, I am impressed.
Keeps on Spinning
author: BillAnother great CD from Laurie. I have been listening to "A Striking Resemblance" for the past week non stop. I am having a hard time deciding which song I like best because each time I listen through the CD is changes. This is just a really great well crafted CD from a quality artist.
