Leonard Julien, III
Biography
Leonard Julien, III is a vocalist and balladeer with a tremendous vocal range. He is able to take you from Barry White to Peabo Bryson. Leonard found his way into the entertainment field while studying saxophone at Southern University under the direction of Alvin Battiste Jazz Ensemble. Leonard’s vocal talent was later discovered by Dr. Isaac Greggs, Band Director of Southern University Marching Band.
Leonard’s musical talent has taken him from his native home of Louisiana and to the Georgia area, where he now resides. Leonard's musical talent was later recognized by Millie Jackson who hired him as a saxophonist and occasional background vocalist. While touring with Millie Jackson, Leonard received a personal call from Otis Williams of the Temptations, to sing the voice over of David Ruffin in the NBC mini series, “The Temptations”. Leonard has also had the opportunity of recording demos for one of his all time favorite male vocalist Peabo Bryson who recorded one the songs entitled "We've Come Too Far".
Leonard has opened for the likes of Jeffrey Osborne, Tyrone Davis, Shirley Murdock and Ray Goodman and Brown just to name a few. Leonard can also be heard playing saxophone on the Outkast hits, “The Whole World” and “I Like The Way You Move”. Leonard is currently working on his next project with Jam 40 Productions.

..BACK IN THE DAY..
author: Dale "Hype" WilliamsWhen you "bring it", you "BRING IT!!!!" So proud of my man "J"! We always talked about keeping R&B true to form, and you have done it! Thanks for the shout-out!! You're right up there with the smooth crooners like Peabo, Jeffery Osborne, but bring a different experience to the scene, which is "Reflections" of your soul! This album is truly a launching pad for more great projects. I can even hear the Gospel Soul in there!(hint) You definitely bring back the memories, "back in the day." You know I'm your #1 fan. Can't wait for the next project! Much Love my Brotha'!!

A musical genius
author: Lance SrLeonard has a vocal range I've never heard before. He goes from singing lead to doing the female vocals in the background. The man has raw talent and should be on the TOP SELLERS list for a while. I highly recommend this cd, especially if you love to hear REAL R and B.
Astonishing!!!!
author: Lynette OliverThis one's a definite hit...very smooth R&B songs that recall the era when male singers sang their songs with class! It has a mix of tunes reminiscent of R&B crooners like Sam Cooke, David Ruffin of the Temptations, Luther Vandross and Marvin Gaye, just to name a few. The songs are smooth and soulful. This is simply a great CD from beginning to end! I highly recommend it!

Will be BIG
author: Albert A. HughesThis Brother has what it takes. He is very smooth and soulful, and still keeps some in reserve. All i say is keep doing it my BROTHER.
Future "Big Willie"
author: Stacey HopkinsThis was a good listen, I would highly recommend it. The vocal arrangements are solid, strong and with good harmony, I suppose it's testament to the skills honed from his extensive experience and exposure in the music business, which are evident from the first note. Mr. Julien's voice is reminiscent of the classic soul vocalists of the 70's and he's definitely someone to watch. Especially liked the remake of the Jerry Butler classic, "Never Gonna Give You Up" and in my opinion, "What She Don't Know", should be on urban/R&B playlists, the vocals on this song are full of emotion which resonates with the listener. Track 10, "You're Gonna Miss Me", had me double-checking what I was listening to, I thought that Mr. Julien had sucessfully channelled Sam Cooke! The lyrical content of the songs are excellent, they celebrate the ups and downs of modern relationships and no matter what side of the spectrum you might be in personally, there's something for all on this release. If you're a romantic at heart (most of us secretly are), then you'll love this CD! Kudos as well to the studio musicians involved, the production is tight and compliment the vocalist well without overpowering, special mentions should goes out to the bassist and keyboardist, these ain't your ordinary studio musicians! One of the challenges of the backing musicians is how to enhance and compliment without overpowering the vocals, this is something this band has managed to achieve; all while bringing back the classic R&B soul vibe back. Congratulations to all and I look forward to hearing more. Well done!
