LISA MONET’S NEWEST CD WINS PARENTS’ CHOICE AWARD

Parents’ Choice Gold Award winners Lisa Monet, popular children’s singer-musician, and fellow musician/engineer/husband Rick St. Charles have just received another Parents’ Choice Foundation award for their newest CD Tingaleyo. A bilingual treasure trove of traditional and original songs in Spanish and English from many countries, the seventeen interactive tracks include the title song, Tingaleyo; La pulga/The flea mart; Jorge/ Georgie; La punta y el tacón/The Point and the Heel, Una luna brilla/One Moon Shines; Día/Day-o; and more crowd-pleasers for all ages. Their daughter Genevieve, an Arcata Arts Institute graduate, is the graphic artist of the cover and inserts to Tingaleyo, and son Matthew, a feature film director/editor, is technical consultant.

This award-winning team has produced five other albums for children, featuring Monet’s pure vocals, lush harmonies, rhythmic guitars and dancing percussion: the Parents' Choice Gold Award winner and best-seller Circle Time, songs and rhymes for the very young; Jump Down, more songs and rhymes; My Best Friend, with the Redwood Coast Children’s Chorus; Christmas Pie, with renowned children's choral director Kathe Lyth; and Chiqui Chiqui Cha, songs and rhymes in Spanish.

    I am a long time fan of Lisa Monet and this is my favorite CD yet! Every one,young and old, become instant fans when they hear her beautiful singing and playing. If you haven't yet experienced Lisa Monet, do so right away !!

    Lisa Monet’s bilingual Tingaleyo CD was given to us for Christmas and we can’t stop listening to it! Her beautiful, melodic voice is so pure and joyful; the harmonies are enchantingly “tight”; and the sing-along songs are so much fun! I’ve played it for my class, and they LOVE it, so I would highly recommend this album for both children and adults!!!

    Lisa Monet expands her joyous sound on this CD without losing that precious purity kids respond to. Ping-ponging back and forth between Spanish and English, these songs are natural teachers of both languages. And children join her in singing on this CD, which naturally makes children listening to it get even more involved. I've my grandson get happily caught up in these songs as if she's right there in the room with him. And Lisa's personal, one-on-one sound calms children and makes them attentive listeners. Kids just love listening to Lisa Monet. I'm getting copies of this one for all my friends with little ones, and I'm recommending it at our local grade school.
