notes
Lisa Haley stands out as one of the finest violinists and vocalists in contemporary music today. Her soaring, compelling, "cornbread" voice strikes listeners square at our emotional roots. Soulful violin, strong original songs, and boundless energy attract the world to this fourth-generation "Fiddlist".
A RYKO/Warner artist, Lisa has worked with Sir George Martin (Beatles producer); Grammy winner KebMo' (who co-produced her latest album "Talking to the Sun"); Brian Setzer; John Hiatt; Toad Wet Sprocket; and a host of others. She appears oncamera in "The Beverly Hillbillies Movie" (Jim Varney); "Man in the Moon" (Jim Carey); "Red Dragon" (Anthony Hopkins); and on NBC-TV show "Las Vegas", performing an original tune and playing "Slippin' & Slidin" with the legendary Little Richard.
The protégé and "adopted daughter" of legendary Cajun accordionist Joe Simien, she has also toured with Grammy-winning artists Queen Ida, Al Rapone and Rockin' Sydney ("Don't Mess with My Toot-toot".) Lisa's music can be heard in "The Waterboy" (Adam Sandler); "The Grave" (Anthony Michael Hall) and HBO's "Mr. Atlas" (which features her critically acclaimed song "Always Be Your Guide".
With four albums to her credit, Lisa's progressive "SwampRock" ignites the spirits of contemporary Christian, Rock and Folk fans. She performs worldwide over 100 days a year with her All-Star band, the Zydekats.
