notes

YOU CAN BUY THE LIFESEEKER CD HERE OR INDIVIDUAL TRACKS ON I-TUNES AND OTHER DIGITAL DISTRIBUTORS.

lifeseeker are a crack unit of m.c.s (mic controllers) bent on innovation and upkeep of the rap game and planet earth in general. We don't speak too much about our aims and philosophies (similar to ninjas), we just put them into effect and let the gears of change take their course. If ever there was a time for you to buy this cd it is now. If you wait, you may die before you get to hear this in it's entirety for the first time. Each track is a combination of a fantastical world love, meeting cold hard reality, as an atom being smashed into it's smaller elements and creating something extremely hot.

Disclaimer: Some members of lifeseeker (almost all of them in fact) are former members of the group "Donut Productions". Donut productions recorded a number of seminal rap/hip-hop works in the early to late 90's including: "The Shady Side of the Donut" (Cassette tape) and "$19.95" (CD for the mowax label). Donut Productions also recorded the song "Wirecutter" for the "Heads 2B" compilation on the mowax label. Point one is multifarious, and we must break it down for analysis: Lifeseeker does not claim to be "Donut Productions" and does not perform their material or represent their philosophies in any way. Still, when listening to lifeseeker you may wonder where ideas as bugged as these have emanated from, and so the genealogy is put forth. Commentary on "donut productions" is present to a certain degree within the songs of lifeseeker, but it is not so completely derisive as to constitute lawsuits or other forms of retaliation.

I first heard Lifeseeker's 'Gone Guru' in the Xbox 360 videogame Dead Rising. I immediately loved it, and thought it fit perfectly with what was going on. Then, I went to check out their other stuff on this site, and loved it. Funny lyrics, bangin' beats and expert flows don't fail to impress. Convinced me to buy the album.

  • Brilliant upbeat hip-hop cd
    author: Jeremy

Honestly, I hate rap. I hate rap so much that I can't stand listening to it for more then a few seconds without going insane. With the exception of the Gorillaz, all bands that called themselves "hip-hop" drove me far, far away. However, when playing Dead Rising for the 360, I heard "Gone Guru" and for some reason was drawn to its simple beat and catchy lyrics. So, I bought this CD. Well, folks, Lifeseeker's self titled debut album is nothing short of a brilliantly recorded, funny, original feel-good album. Even if you hate rap, you'll likely find something great here. It's hard to find a song I don't like on this album, and each song is different enough that you can leave it playing for a while and then even repeat it if you want, and you'll never get bored. The band's sense of humor is original, wacky, and funny as well. "Tally Hall" fans might find their lyric style familiar. It's clever, catchy, and funny. Most of the songs on the album start with a simple, and extremely catchy riff. Then the rap comes in, and it just blends perfectly. I would definitely recommend everyone to buy this album and support this under-appreciated band.

  • Sweet tunes, listen to them everyday.

All I can say is AWESOME....these tunes get me through the day! Peace to Lifeseeker.

  • THE BEST MUSIC I HAVE EVER HEARD
    author: Alex

Years ago, maybe in 2002, my next door neighbor in Isla Vista gave me a cd with Killer Moves burned on it. Being from San Jose, it was the greatest song I ever heard. I asked where I could find more songs by Lifeseeker, but my neighbor said they were friends of friends of friends of somebody's cousin, and he had no idea how to find them. Well, today I found Lifeseeker, and it is the best day of my life.

I bought this CD after hearing Gone Guru on the XBox 360 game "Dead Rising." I now like Middle Earth better than Gone Guru, but they are both great songs. This CD will not disappoint!

  • Very good, I don't even like rap.

I'm not a big fan of rap, but when I heard "Gone Guru" in Dead Rising, I had to get the CD. It's very good.

Like many others I first heard Gone Guru on Dead Rising. After some researching on the internet I found their myspace page and heard a few other songs. The complete CD is great and I would love to see them in person. Middle Earth is hilarious!! I hope they enjoy much success, they deserve it.

    author: Arnold Dike

I like rock more than rap. I also like ween who seems to be a pretty big influence on these guys. Anyways I took a chance on this, and I gotta say it's pretty good. Most of the songs are good to very good, there's a couple I don't like, but overall I like it.

  • Great CD, Very Original
    author: Jen Armand

The is a great CD, I can't stop listening to it. The songs are catchy. Funny lyrics. There should be more rap like this!!!

  • Big UPs. CD is tight. Crazy nice! Every song hits.
    author: John Breeze

Man, I wasn't sure if I was down with some wild style kids rhyming. But after a couple listens this CD had me buggin hard! Every song has some crazy intricate story with dope beats. Some one put they time in crafting these bangers, the drums hit. All the tracks definitely have an old school vibe, but more complex. All in all I give it four stars, this CD is the bomb!!!
