Born and raised in Oregon, Libbie Schrader is a songwriter with a passionate alt-pop/rock style. Libbie was the first winner of the Pantene Pro-Voice competition (other winners include Marie Digby and Kate Voegle). Her 2004 release "Letters to Boys" included four tracks produced by Erik Penny, and these tracks were given Music Connection Magazine's highest demo rating of 2004. One of these tracks ("Come When I Call") also received the top review of the week from NPR.org. "Letters to Boys" is now available for purchase on iTunes. In 2005, Libbie released "Taking the Fall," produced by Grammy winner Brian Paturalski (Outkast, Faith Hill). Libbie was recently named as one of Music Connection's "Hot 100 Unsigned Artists" for both 2005 and 2006, and she received a coveted MySpace feature in early 2006. Libbie also appeared on the 2006 Gilmore Girls season finale performing her song "Sweet When You Wanna Be." Her song "Wish You Were the Woman" was a semi-finalist in the 2007 International Songwriting Competition.

Hidden Treasure
author: David S.Libbie's music crosses generations, everyone who has listened to this CD has raved about her musical style. Her songs have a wonderful feel to them the make you stop and listen. This CD has a permanent spot in the CD changer as well as my laptop and iPod. You would be well served to get a copy as soon as possible for your collection.

I've been really wanting more female vocalists in my collection & this album is exactly what I've been looking for. I ended up at a show in NYC where Libbie was playing, didn't even think to buy a CD (never buy CDs at shows...) & by the next morning, when I woke up with her music in my head - I wished I had! I've been glad I did - a rich variety of music & vocals, all of which I resonate with - a truly great album.
a unique treasure
author: NathanThis is a great album by a musician who's not afraid to do something different & be true to themselves. a unique voice & a sweet way of looking at life. favourites tracks are Wish you were the woman - if just for the mention of Johnny chasing June,No threat to me & So Sweet - for all of the la-la de-dah's near the end. Keep up the good work Libbie. I wish i still could get some of the older albums on cd. if anyone's interested in similar artists - look up Katie Brayben. Don't hesitate to buy it
author: SamanthaThis album is absolutely amazing. Libbie's songs are the type that somehow make that bad day a lot better just by listening, with lyrics you can most definitely relate to. Also has happier more upbeat songs that are the type to just get stuck in your head all day, making you love it even more. I haven't stopped listening to the album since I got it, probably one of the better albums I've purchased in a long time.

author: Bill B.Ok, I'm not good with words, or breaking songs down, or giving a good description of music. What I will say is this. I saw Libbie perform these songs at her cd release in NYC, and after leaving the show, I walked away with such a great feeling, and just felt like I had a great time. That same feeling is conveyed through this album. Should be enough said. :-)
What we've been waiting for...
author: Heather N.I've been listening to Libbie since "Letters to Boys", which I realize does actually make me a bit of a newbie in terms of the original followers from Think of England! I absolutely love the new songs on this album, as well as the new, fresh take on the songs that I've loved since the moment I heard them. Libbie has this uncanny ability to express herself and let the listener feel it with her; you are connected to her songs at the first listen. And her voice is just phenomenal! I would recommend her to anybody, as I've been trying to get my friends to listen...and when they finally do, the know what I'm talking about. Give her a try, I know you won't be disappointed.
Why I Recommend Libbie Schrader
author: Steven LeavittLibbie is both a fantastic songwriter and performer. Not only is she a phenomenally talented vocalist, she knows how to weave a song. Her lyrics are rich poetically and emotionally and likewise the music delivers right on cue. Her impeccable ability on the piano makes it as if she is also talking through it while simultaneously delivering her lines with utter passion and conviction. And the shoe fits. Libbie IS her material. So much so its hard not to feel a sense of connection with her struggle, the same way you would if you stood in her very shoes. Many of Libbie's songs have become a part of my "life-soundtrack" the same way that, say, Bono singing "I still haven't found what I'm looking for" dances in my head all the right moments. And she's been working very hard, promoting herself via the independent route. She's spent the last number of years in Los Angeles, where many musicians find little or even no reward despite the most valiant efforts. Her song "San Francisco" is partially about wanting to leave LA and has summed it up best with the brilliant line "...I found nothing here but the strength it takes to draw water from a stone." Libbie's latest release is a gem and she's brilliant live to boot. Her efforts need to be noticed. So I'm going to recommend you give Libbie Schrader a listen yourself until the rest of the English speaking world gets the opportunity to discover that magic as well.
