notes
TASTE THE LOVE is Leon Ware's first independent project, having made others for United Artists, Motown and Elektra during the 70's and 80's Since writing and producing the masterful album "I Want You" for MARVIN GAYE, Leon has continued to expand on the romantic and sensual theme that was at the core of that work- with this album being the first that reflects this more openly and center-stage. TASTE THE LOVE is a testament to his musical purpose: to ease the mind, soothe the soul and arouse the senses.

Pure jewel of the most sensual soul music ever made !
author: Guilhem PepinThis album is like a good dishe you eat with patience and delectation, because you appreciate every nuances of the taste in all the ingredients. It is the "culinary" concept of this essential sensual soul album. I know what I say, 'cause I'm French! The food and the women are closely related in our pleasure priorities! Thank you a lot Leon ! Again a masterpiece of the R&B music. Even if I'm more a fan of funk and of up-tempos, you're the best for the marvellous R&B ballads. R. Kelly and many of his generation are far away from you (with the exception, maybe, for me, of JOE). So, If you want a romantic evening with champagne and candles (I know, it's a soul "cliché"!), if you want to swim in an athmosphere of sexual sensuality, this is THE album for you!

One of the best Soul albums EVER
author: Barry Towler (Soul Express Online)When I bought this back in 1995 I literally was astounded by the sheer beauty and soulfulness of the arrangements and lyrics. As with all of Leon's albums, this is absolutely essential and contained within are some of the Man's best ever writing, production and performance. Meltdown is just, pure and simply, one of the most acheingly gorgeous recordings ever and rates as one of his best. His words 'why has fate cheated us? We have to fear our natural need? Only a precious caution kills a chance...' These stunning lyrics, passionately delivered over the top of the slinky, floating beats and sax cannot be equalled. The song I Get Weak is best described as sublime - the quirky keybords and spaced out groove and vocal dexterity lift this to another plane. No collection of any soul / RnB collector is complete without this essential album.
