The.Tale.And is Jay's look into the outfolding of the tail end of a relationship--a tale everyone's familiar with.
However, in an attempt to not write an EP about dwelling and sulking, Jay hopes the linear progression brings a light at the end of the CD, showing that there is in fact, life after the tale... thus.. "The Tale And" was made to chronicle what goes on after a relationship ends and a new path begins.
Reviews:
"...Jay Legaspi's clear-eyed, ambitious attempt to stretch the bounds of the singer/songwriter genre. Legaspi's soft-spoken tenor and gymnastic delivery bring neo-soul to the house. An avalanche of words nods to rap and spoken word performance... All of this in a concept album about the (tail) end of a relationship... an original."--David Kleiner, Minor 7th (http://minor7th.com/shorttakes8_05.html)
"...Jay Legaspi's combination of Acoustic rock and soul is fun to listen to, and yet highly personal and emotional. I have not heard someone do what he does as well as he does it." (http://www.cdbabel.com/showReview.php?reviewID=33)

A great new talent - even better live
author: Paul Baluch
I saw this guy play live at Kenny's Castaways in Greenwich Village. He's much better live. He has a great talent for tunes and really intelligent lyrics. He has a great, danceable song that he played at Kenny's (unfortunately it's not on the CD). I think he's a Cornell grad. Watch out for this guy

Long time listen, life time fan
author: Stan Gable
I've been listening to Jay's stuff on soundclick.com for abotu 2 years or so. I heard him mention a cd but then never heard any more about it. I contacted him a few weeks ago and he responded in kind and also told me about the cd. I ordered it the same day and have been listening to it ever since. A wonderful medley of tunes accompanied with some insightful lyrics to transform the stigma of a bad relationship into three minutes of complete clarity. Absolutly awesome.

Time gets deeper the more I listen to it. Ghost is my new personal anthem! Can't wait to see this guy live! If somebody doesn't sign this guy, I'm going to start my own label and do it ...
