Joshua David Crouch AKA LEFTist was born in Florida and raised in Wilmington North Carolina. After he Graduated High School LEFTist moved to NYC to pursue Acting. While growing up LEFTist was into Ska and Punk Rock and played in many bands. In New York City he became interested in Alternative Underground Hip Hop, and eventually became one of the founding members of the Brooklyn based MINDSpray Crew. LEFTist was one of the main hosts in MINDSpray’s HipHop residency’s in the many venues in which they occupied in NYC. He was known for being a conscious, and energetic MC. He has toured from eastern Canada to Florida and his Discography includes: MINDSpray Shot in the Dark Vol.1(2004), LEFTist C.O.N.C.E.P.T. Intervention(2006), and MINDSpray What’s Inside?(2006).
On September 18th 2006 LEFTist past away at the young age of 24 years old. NYPD are undetermined if he was murdered or killed by a hit and run truck accident. This Album is dedicated to his memory and came together after his death. Although LEFTist is gone, his music still lives on. myspace.com/leftism
