notes

Lee Domann (www.leedomann.com) is a songwriter/storyteller living in Nashville, Tennessee. His music has been recorded by a variety of artists including Kathy Mattea, Riders In The Sky, the Peasall Sisters (from the movie, "O Brother, Where Art Thou?), Jake Hess, the Gold City Quartet, and many others. His songs have appeared on the charts of BILLBOARD, and have received extensive airplay internationally.

Grammy Award winning recording artist, Kathy Mattea, says, "Lee has been my friend for 20 years. He penned my first two singles. For him, music is about the truth...he writes from the soul, and you hear it in his songs."

Gospel legend, Gloria Gaither, remarks, "Lee's spirit is gentle, but his message is powerful. Like truth in any form, the truth he communicates is 'sharper than a two-edged sword,' yet at the same time, it heals the broken spirit."

Lee has recorded four solo albums of his own songs. "Howard Gray," a true story about "the kid nobody liked" in school, is widely used at educational workshops and concerts by other musicians. [see "Howard Gray Story" link on Lee's website]. The song has been recorded by over 20 other artists. Other songs that continue to grow in popularity include "The Ones Who Believe," "Jesus Laughing," "Alfred and Omega," and "Death Ain't No Big Deal."

Since 1991 Lee has traveled throughout the U.S., Canada, and Europe, combining music with humor and storytelling. His style is reminiscent of Garrison Keillor, of National Public Radio's "The Prairie Home Companion." One fan calls him "Garrison with Guitar." His presence and style reflect his varied roots: the open skies and often lonely spaces of his home state, Kansas; the journey of the spirit leading to Nashville and his "southern-by-adoption" status; as well as the musical roots of the celtic, folk, country, rock, and gospel traditions. His wit, humor, and vulnerability forge a deep connection with the listener.

His desire to live in faith and trust enables Lee to respond to most booking requests.
