From the blazing stratocaster-on-fire guitar intro of the middle class anthem "Kickin' Down Doors", to the playful chickin' pickin' of "Where Are The Girls With Guitars", to the haunting and fluid melodic lines of "One Little Thing", to the organic front porch slide guitar twang of "Don't Give It Up", all the way through to the final passionate wah wah blast of In The River, Laurie Morvan's guitar playing sets the tone of this entire CD.

The well-crafted songs immediately engage the listener with both vocal and instrumental hooks. The story lines delve into gut-level issues everyone can relate to, and are driven by Laurie's clever and catchy lyrics. Her powerful vocals span every mood from self reflection and pain to whimsy and rebellion, culminating in the vulnerable, moving revelations of "Family Line".

This CD is an accurate portrait of the no-holds-barred-what-you-see-is-what-you-get sincerity of a Laurie Morvan Band performance. Every emotion is laid bare, every musical nuance is explored and nothing is held back.
