notes
Originating in the winter of 2001, The Last Hotel has made a concerted effort towards adding creative vocals to their melodic song-writing in order to set them apart from the local scene in Columbus. With a love of music history and a deep-seeded desire to create something different and fresh, the sound of The Last Hotel is hard to put a finger on and yet still feels immediately familiar. The music has been said to have sounds similar to John Lennon, Jeff Buckley, Wilco and even moments of T.Rex. Over the past two years, The Last Hotel has shared the stage with such national recording artists as The Mates of State, The Waxwings, Howlin' Maggie, The Minders, Mayday, The Trouble with Sweeney and international recording artists, Roller.
The group consists of members Keith Jenkins (lead guitar), Dan Bell (drums), Jessica Faller (piano), Adam Dowell (bass), and Ryan Horns (vocals, rhythm guitar). Recording primarily with the exceptional Columbus engineer Jon Fintel at Relay Recording, The Last Hotel is touring the midwest in support of their debut release, an EP of 6-songs fleshed out in the attic studio the band calls home.
