notes
Pirate Radio spanks your sensibilities with another heaping helping of that Rocky Mountain Romp Rock. From the anti work anthem This Job Sucks, to the southern fried slide guitar of Micro Brew, to the haunting sorrow of Southbound Train and the chilling Nuclear Winter, this album is chock full of pure pumping party power the likes of which is unheard of in todays mainstream music. Relive those thrilling days of yesteryear when Lynyrd Skynyrd and ZZ Top ruled the West with six stringed fury and witness the new breed of Rock and Roll Rebels, The Last Band On Earth.
With this album, The Last Band pays tribute to the brave selfless efforts of those intrepid DJs, radio stations, Internet radio and distributors like CDBaby who dare to support unknown and Indie bands for the pure love of music. It is directly because of these people and you music fans that Independent Music has slipped through the stranglehold of the major labels and has been allowed to flourish on its own. We salute you all!

Classic rock guffaws
author: Richard Amery Kenora Daily Miner and NewsRemember the glory days of Skynard and ZZ Top? Combine those big old warmly distorted riffs and big solos with a wicked sense of humour and you get the Last Band on Earth. I blast This Job Sucks on the office computer when work starts to get me down — I smile and laugh and all is well once again. I don’t think the boss laughs though. These cool cats are also bad dogs as evidenced by Spank that Puppy. Pirate Radio is a pretty homage to those who support independent music. And the rest the stuff you don’t hear on cdbaby— it cooks. You get two versions of their big hit— Party In My Pants. A sizzling electric version and a live acoustic version which finishes off a live radio interview with the band at the end of the CD. If this is indeed the Last Band on Earth then that’s all right by me.
